Well ... after trading and painting i finally have most of my army assembled and ready. Some units were added just because I got them in trade and I could fit them in without comprimising the effectiveness of the overall strategy of a mech list.

You might notice i am not using sang guard, special characters, honor guard or jump pack RaS at 1500 even though most are almost painted or completed ...

HQ 100
Librarian, 100 pts (The Sanguine Sword, Shield of Sanguinius, Power Armour)
(simple and needed for the shield - goes in a razor squad)

Elites  400

2 Sanguinary Priest 150 pts (Combi-melta, Lightning Claw)
(they go with razor squads for extra melta and FnP)

2x Furioso Dreadnought 250 pts  (Blood Talons, Meltagun, Storm Bolter)
(counter charging behind razor wall)

Troops 700

4x 5 Assault Squad, 700 pts  (Remove Jump Packs, Meltagun)
4x Razorback (Twin Linked Plasma Gun, Lascannon, Hunter Killer Missile)
(shoot and then then shoot more)

Fast Attack 300

2x Baal Predators 300 pts (Twin Linked Assault Cannon,  Heavy Bolter Sponsons, Extra Armor)
(fronting the razors)

I hope this will get the most out of BA strengths without overloading on toys.

Well, the list looks solid. Questionable are extra armor for the Baals and lightning claws for the Priests.
By the way, the pics look quite good.

I had 30 extra points so I [put on the Xtra Armor. Could be on Dreads instead as easily. I like the Claws. Adds a bit of punch to the assault squads AND looks awesome. Win/win.

I prefer PWs over claws. On average they get the same amount of wounds, however a PW has a chance to get one more wound than a claw due to the extra attack from a pistol+ccw. That is my only main gripe with the list but you can't change it as it seems you have already finished the models.

I would suggest EA on the dreads since they're walking.

I under stand that, which is why the wounds come out the same. PW gets one extra attack while the claw gets one less but rerolls. On average they're the same. However, the PW has the potential for more total wounds which is why I prefer it.

1x 6 Death Company 230 pts (2 Power Weapons, 1 Power Fist)
1x Razorback  (Twin Linked Heavy Flamer)

Fast Attack 290

2x Baal Predators 145 pts (Twin Linked Assault Cannon, Heavy Bolters) 

Total: 1500

This list has fared well over six games that I've played. I decided to add the DC as I wanted to scoot something forward and target those dev squads or other backfield annoyances quickly. I was afraid they might end up being dragged all over the table but really with good deployment and by using the rest of your force wisely you can mitigate that entirely. They pretty much made their points back every game. I would have used one DC dread but I don't have one painted!

I think i prefer these mech builds over DoA. I now have Sanguinor, Dante, a jump RaS squad and a Sang Guard squad beautifully painted sitting on the shelf.

Interesting list.

I personally wouldn't put so much war gear on the priest, but if it works for you then more power to you!

How did you find the DC in a Razorback? With that kind of transport you obviously can't assault on the turn you disembark, so you've got a round of them getting shot at and gives your opponent opportunity to move something nasty close which you'll then have to chase.

I would also personally give the Assault Squads JP rather than transports as again you've got issues of having to get out the vehicle and waiting before you can assault, and with only 5 man squads a good round f shooting can really cut down your numbers...

Guess there's no room for a chappy in the list to give the DC a bit of extra bang?

Otherwise nice list. I like the dual Baal with assault cannon (I plan to get a couple of these at some point in the future)

Your painting is really good too.

Keeping your troops alive is all about positioning. I gang up in cc, otherwise I'm mounted unless I'm using the melta. The DC are my cc specialists and there are a lot of tricks to keep your DC from raging. LoS is important and keeping a transport nearby for them to embark is also crucial. The Razors are my primarare unique to a solid BA list.  FNP/Furious charge, Blood Talons and fast vehicles are their strengths.
