This type of army would benefit from the command and control node, but that’s only a single point improvement in LD. For a more dedicated support character, get a Shas’o for LD10.

Whole lot of Fire Warriors

The Shas’ui must mark what the entire squad shoots at, meaning if you want to mark a tank, you waste pulse rifles. Hard-wired target locks will help here. Consider cutting these down to 10 man teams, or perhaps 8 man teams. You free up 80/200 points that could get you some more units into this, such as Gun Drones for cheap scoring units, harass and slow down, or specialist Crisis Suits to deal with specific threats. I’m thinking a Deathrain (twin-linked missile pods) or 2 might help. Railguns are meant for heavy vehicles, and pulse rifles are better sticking to infantry, this fills the gap.

Personally, I’ve found that they are best with at least 4 members. Get a team leader with bonding to stop these guys from running away as well.

Decoy launchers and target locks. Decoys because they improve survivability so much for so little, and target locks because solid shots and SMS are not meant for the same targets.

Personally I think that this would be a very good list and be able to take on most armies.

But...(and there's always a but) I'd advise getting rid of a couple of units of Firewarriors and using the points to get a few piranhas or some deap-striking drones which you could use to capture table quarters in turn 6.

These would be good ideas because in tournaments your objective will not always be to eradicate the enemy. The  objective could be to destroy something or to capture a certain landmark of table quarters, so using these fast and deep-striking units you can deliver a sudden and unexpected strike which could win you the game.

But as I said before I believe that your army list would be very strong against most opponents and would enable you to win most of your games with some cunning tactics.

well, my initial comments would be two things:

firstly its a very "different" looking tau army, other than the fact that every GT tau list seems to take three railheads.

secondly - its ultimately, in my opinion, a bit boring really! i mean, the tau empire codex worked so hard to give us viable alternative choices so that we could enrich our armies and make them more varied. all that hard work undone!  :D

i would really suggest that you take it back tothe drawing board and look to enhance it through increasing your variety. think of the missions you are likely to need to fulfil, and look to which units will help you do that.

mobility is really key.
