I dont know, but each time I get on the subject of orks I have this question: are orks evil or are they nutral?

I think Orks are neutral. They don't do cruel things for cruelty's sake, they just want to have fun and the funniest thing for an Ork is a Waaaaagh!. They're like drunk people who want a brawl.

Orks? Evil? No! Survival of the Fitest, so the kill stuff because they think they need to. There not to smart (rocket on a stick) but they do what the need (or at least think the need to do) to to survive. There not evil, there just to incredibly stupid!

They're definitely EVIL! In every (standard) fantasy world Orks are EVIL & CHAOTIC. Orks in 40k are just a fantasy rip-off in space.

Orks aren't either. They're just there. They're made for people who want alaugh with their vehicles and crap. I love Orks because they're not a serious as my Space Marines and not as hell-bent on destruction as my Chaos Space Marines. Orks are there for a larf and if you try to take them seriously then you're not playing the right army.

i'll say evil since most fantasy seems to based of Tolkien in the Lord of the Rings orks are definatly evil. But i agree with the last post dont play the seriously or your playing them totally wrong!

I would say in 40K they are neutral. Sure, they may seem evil, as they are bent on conquest and all, but if you think about it, so is the Imperium. Making sure that all alien races are eliminated to better mankind. The Orks themselves just live to fight.

Cant blame the 40k orks for what those evil tolkien orcs or those good-doing wc3 orcs do.

In 40k all the races are "evil" of sorts, if they do not actively seek out the other races destruction its becourse they arent in a position to do so.

Werent Yarrick spared becourse he were a worthy opponent? No other races in 40k would honour a member of another race like that when it means letting a skilled/dangerous commander loose.

Orks dont sacrifice other races worlds to save themselves like eldar, they arent easily corrupted by Chaos as humanity and they dont have need of an "inqusition" or eating of souls and that jibberish.

If it werent for how they treated grots they would be the good guys by far

Compared with Dark Eldar, Chaos, and Necrons Orks look innocent (MY opinion).
Compared to Eldar, SMs, Tau and IG they are bloodthristy killers (again MY opinion).
I'd have to say Orks rank with Tyranids. They kill because they have too. Tyranids to live, Orks to live. When I say that I mean Orks aren't the kind to drop everything and flee from a large foe. They are the fearless nomads of space to put it simply, willing to take on anything.

They are neutral, but you should tell yourself that if they ally with someone they aren't really allied but are preoccupied by a common enemy, then will turn on their "allies"

Orks are just savages. Neither good or evil...because to them war is a way of living and not evil. It's a way to loosen up aggressions and achieve a fairly peaceful society(within the warband).
They are LESS evil than humans....
I mean. Do the orks ever commit Exterminatus?
Do the orks persecute deviants(kicked out yes...persecuted? No)?
Do the orks destroy planets?

No. They are less evil than the Empire, they are Less evil than the Tyranids(who are the Destroyer of Worlds and the anti-thesis of life in the universe) they are less backstabbing than the Eldar and they are DEFINITLY less evil than Dark Eldar or Necrons.

Infact the only ones who are more good than orks are the Tau!!!

As for grots...they are born and bred to serve the orks. Nothing more than intelligent squigs really.

The orks are definatly neutral. They don't go oh lets disembowel these people for fun or say all aliens must be destroyed!!!
'Cause da Orks aint like dat, they don't need obliterate everythin' to live, just some good old battle to toughen 'em up. You silly 'umies will never understand 'cause ya too busy worryin' 'bout stuff dat aint important.
