Topic: UPDATED newbie army list, 2kpts, City fighters

 This is the updated version to my old list (see newbie armylist, 2kpts city fighters) thanks to Koonitz, seargent henimen (excuse spelling) and others. I took out the commissar, 'challehgers' and a storm trooper sqd. I then boosted the snipers and both platoons with two more sqds. A demolisher was put in there for the armoured support. Here goes:

As for your list, WOW.  When I said you should take more infantry, I didnt think youd max out your platoons.  Not that there is anything wrong with that . 

Are you splitting up those infantry squads with sniper rifles?  Because sniper rifles and melta guns do not mix.  Now, if you are splitting them up, all the more power to you.

If you are giving everyone a vox, might as well get a master vox as well.  I think some of the squads would not need the voxes, as you should keep some of them within 12" of your Command Squad.

 Yeh, I planned to split those two squads up, the melta guns goin marine hunting close up while under the cover of the sniper.

 Voxes: I agree, but I really dont kno how the vox sustem works tactically, so im not sure what sqds I should and Shouldnt put it on. Could you give me a hand with that?

using cadian snipers to represent toughness 2 halflings is rediculous. use the cityfight sniper rules or something instead.

Voxes pretty much let you use your officer's leadership for squads outside the 12" radius.  With a regular vox-caster, you can only 'talk' to one squad, but with a master, you can 'talk' to as many as you like.

They're in the new Guard 'dex, pages 35 and 36.  There are also some clarifications in the v4.0 FAQ on GW's website.

Are you telling me that I have been fighting Cityfights for three years without knowing of the cityfoght sniper's existence?

Can someone teel me where I can find rules for them?

They are deathworld vet snipers w/out the toxins.  You'll need Codex: Catachans and Cityfight to use them.

They're probably talking about page 19, under the heading 'Codex: Catachans'

I'm not sure if taking them in a new codex army would be officially legal. The catachan codex is currently not meant to provide units for the main IG codex, instead, the DWV list has become a stand alone.

Most opponents won't give you trouble for taking the cityfight snipers, but you may want to check with the organisers of tournaments before settling on a list.
