Here is what mini loks like; but until the site is 100% you probably won't be able to access the Tutorial, I'll take another look but I am having difficulty finding it also.

The basics are to layer in the softer colour as you go, simply trying to keep it random, then ue an Ink or a Wash to blend it all and smudge it for you, and a soft gloss coat to make it look wet.

Here it is in Green to show you what that can look like.

There are others that do it way better than I do, probably because I try to do it under an hour if possible (and I'm pretty close to that most times).

Thanks for the comments!

I couldn't find any close-ups on my HD, so I just cropped out the tanks in the original photo (which is huge) and uploaded them.  You can find shots of my entire army here: zomg click the link for Eldarz

The fire prism is in rough shape because it was restored from a previous, misguided attempt at conversion :P

I really like some of the stuff posted here so far, happy to contribute :)

Just finished my first wave serpent.  Took forever, but I'm pretty happy with the result.  I would have put more detail into the rear, but I'm sort of antsy to get started on a new project.

At the suggestion of a friend, he and I both decided to get back into 40k.  We both had ebayed our armies a couple years back so we are starting from scratch.  I'm getting close to 500 points of models painted so I figured I'd toss 'em up here now that i have a few photos.  So far I have 10 guardians, 2 weapon platforms, 10 dire avengers, 1 farseer and 1 warwalker complete with another warwalker in the works to round out 500 points.  I tried to get whole squad shots but with my lighting I was getting really crappy camera focus so I just pulled a few from each group.  Colors aren't corrected quite right as I don't have photoshop on this machine but Irfanview actually did semi-ok.  I'll try to post more pics as i get stuff finished.

So yes, I commissioned my main force [shrug]: there it is (what's painted at least), although some of the pics could be better. :D

Also, a sample of some more models.

Howling Banshees w/Exarch

Warp Spiders w/Exarch

Fire dragons w/Exarch and Fuegan

Some Harlequins

The Avatar of Khaine

Not to show off (painting isn't in par by far) but that's what I did for my Star Engines (Rear thrusters) and Vectored Engines (Underhull thrusters).

I expect that most of you will recognise where these come from. :D

I'll add some pictures of my army.  I am a ridiculously slow painter, so many things still have some work to be done.  This isn't my whole Eldar force.  Its what I use for my mostly play a wraithguard centered army, plus some other stuff that I use from time to time.  I sort of made up my own craftworld--craftworld Fa'alnor

Here is a picture of the army as a whole (and a titan in the background on the upper left corner ;)):

A closer look at the left side:

I'm changing my Falcons.  The one on the left is on its way; the one on the right is the scheme I started with.  The one on the right has my waveserpent turret on top.  I made it out of a pencil sharpener.  The big jewel needs work as does the turret and the underside.  I just made a dragon's breath flamer for my Fire Dragon Exarch out of a brightlance.  I got the black wraithguard in a trade, and am in the process of repainting them.

A closer look at the right:

My two main wraithguard squads:

The white squad is a work in progress.  Like I said, I am really slow.  The green wraithguard with the gold loincloth is more or less what the rest of the squad will look like when done.

Here are some of the Avatar; probably my best work:

The walker in the front is more or less done, though I still have to do the gems.  The wraithlord is also pretty much done, though at some point I'll paint up some of his gems also.

Read the story behind custom titles and tell us about yours.

Just had these photos sent to me of my just finished models. Should arrive in the post next week :D
Right click them and click "show image" to see them fullsize.

Note that the Lord's head is not glued and is not positioned in the pose it will be stuck in when I get it.

And here's a better picture of the Autarch I converted and posted pictures of previously.

Wow, Lorizael...  your stuff is always stunning.   Most of everything you post is very inspiring.  Someday I'm going to kidnap your painter.   All the power weapons he does blow me away.

I've been busy painting my own stuff, trying to complete a playable list.
Sorry, the pics are a little dark, I should have shot them in front of a white background.

There's some impressive painting going on here, too many names to mention.

I haven't finished building my Eldar Army but here's what I have so far, please remember this is my second army and the first one was just block painted using no more then 3 colours. This is my first attempt at painting properly. However I am struggling with my skimmers.

My entire Eldar Army

Fire Dragons

Howling Banshees

Dire Avengers

Hopefully by my 4th army I'll have something that can rival your painting.

Just because it's official, doesn't mean it doesn't suck.
