Congrats gaz! I voted for you
There were some great lists here, many of which were totally unexpected and really interesting. As I mentioned before, magenb's and volatilegaz's lists particularly stood out for me from the start, and I was seriously torn between them. I really love magenb's list for its variety, tactical flexibility and overall feel. It is an example of an army that would be really interesting and exciting to build, paint and play - and that is, at the same time, rather strong too! However, in the end I cast my vote for volatilegaz's list because, to my experience, it is stronger from a purely competitive standpoint.
The biggest advantage of volatilegaz's list is that it can be reduced to just 5 deployment choices, meaning that it has some serious chances to go first vs many opponents. And with everything except Guardians having effective reach of at least 40" or more, the army, despite its compact size, can put out one hell of a 1st turn alpha-strike. It is fluffy in its own right too - I love the picture of Maugan Ra taking to the field at the head of a small force of his disciples, with some generic Craftworld units requisitioned for support
Thanks everyone for great and educative experience and special thanks to gaz and Iris for organising it!
