Okay, this is a list that I've designed purely for amphetamine parrots and giggles, I didn't really take too much tactical sense into this, but hell, it would be fun to field. So, tell me your opinions, and how well you think this list would deal against:

spending 70 pts. on die hards makes me want to cry.

As well, I'm not entirely certain what those flamers will ever do.

As well, you're relying on 5 lascannons and the hope of good infiltration opportunities to take down all of the tanks in a 2000 pt list. Likewise, I think that an MC-heavy list would serve up soem serious hurt.

That being said, you probably have light infantry down, and if they were Smurfs, and didnt bring a whole lot of tac marines, you'd probably be fine.

Well, you're going to cry a little more considering I actually spent 90 points on die-hards  ;D.

Anyways, what does MC mean? (Monstrous Creatures?)

 :'(

Anyways, what does MC mean?

Monstrous Creature.

A tyranid player can easily pack 8 of these in 2000 pts. with points to spare.

Imagine 8, toughness 6/7, 2+/3+ save, 3/4 wound, strength 7-10 power weapon maniacs with 3-6 attacks, and some of them can fly.

And you've got what to stop that? A couple of meltaguns and a lascannon or two?

Well, funzies aside, I guess I'd have to find something.

With the 90 extra points I guess I could swap the meltas out for plasma and place in 2 lascannons, and drop the Missiles for Las giving me a total of 9 lascannons and 10 plasma guns with 30 points to spare.

Hi

It looks like a fairly decent basis for an army but needs some tinkering. I like to allocate specific roles for units and optimise equipment for these roles. Even for a fun based army you can exaggerate the sheer craziness by the following tips.

1. HQ. Looks ok but high points cost. Any dedicated hand to hand unit will turn them into peanut butter pretty quickly.
2. Mortar squads. Low strength but may be worthwile if pinning rules come into play.
3. Auto Cannon Teams. These optimise against transports. So I think autocannons belong in line squads as you want your AT department to be the heavy hitters to stop the really big stuff. An Autocannon just won't dent AV 14. Also you won't need 6 shots against a transport. You will end up wasting shots. Swap them for either HBs or LCs. Put the ACs in platoon infantry squads.
4. Elites. Those are 2 nasty squads. hide them carefully as they will be target number 1.
5. Troops. HQ-  I would like to see a bit more firepower available to the HQ. Hqs can really boost your battle line and turn areas into no go zones. Flamers are just too short range to do much. Perhaps put all the flamers into 1 squad and get some plasma for the other. I would even save to include an extra HQ squad also as more of a leadership boost. Squads- I would put the Auto cannons and MLs in here and make dedicated LC and HB fire support squads. I honestly can't see squad level flamers doing much. Most enemies that assault can move up to 18 inches per turn so the flamers can't really target them at all. I like the GL + ML match up (2 blasts or 2 Kraks) + the AC + PG match up (3 or 4 str 7 shots.)
6. Conscripts. I can't really see a role in your army for these guys. If they are just cannon fodder then OK but I think you should be thinking more aggressively. At least give them the flamers so they can do something. I think you will find it hard to deploy such big squads. I would say 2 x 20 would be enough to do the meat shield job. Or why not go 2 x 40, packing 4 flamers each with independant commisars to lead them.

To those who say it can't be done.
I just did it.

Armies
Black Templar 2500pts
Orks 3500 pts
Imperial Guard 3000 points
Dark Eldar 3000 pts
Blood Angels 1500pts
Chaos 1500pts
