Agreed. I also like the green handles better than the yellow. Not sure but think the yellow just really took attention away from the rest of the model.

Thank you for the feedback, guys! I accept criticism and praise both, and I you guys weren't the first to pick out the yellow on the blade hilts. (It's actually supposed to be a gold shade, but one of my friends informed me that it looked far too pastel ;D). I decided to go ahead and change the hilt colors, which took some effort to clean up, but I think it's for the best.

So, don't hesitate to tell me if you don't like something :), always a way to improve it.

So about the Endless Skullroot Tree; Do you guys like the different shade on either side of the tree. Not sure if you can see it well enough in the pictures. One side is somewhat grimy like it's been in a swampy / muddy area. The branches are lighter as if from sunnier, more arid region. Then the other half is a smooth brown that makes it look like it's from an ancient woodland.

Should I just make the trunk one color entirely?

It's personal taste, but tree trunks and branches tend to be a similar shade, unless the bark has been damaged, but that's only valid if your trying to make a real life tree, this is a magical floating tree, so go with what you like :)

I like the idea of using mud/dirt effects on the roots/base of the trunk, I would lighten up the bones first and then apply the effect.

LOL, I accidentally put this album on imgur publicly, and was downvoted twice in seconds before I could switch it back :P. Imgurians have a high standard it seems lol.

Still WIP:

Thanks for the feedback, Mage, I didn't intend to make the roots that dark. But I'll definitely be lightening those bones up in time! Wouldn't feel finished without working on those I think  :).

The treepeople (and the tree itself) look great. I quite like the darker somewhat glossy roots; like it was recently uprooted and started floating. Some clumps of wet dirt will only add to that effect. I think GW had a pretty nice tutorial on easily making good looking wet soil/mud back when LoTR first came out, but there's plenty of techniques out there.

Thanks, Nutty! I'll take a look at those soil tutorials, cause it would be awesome to pull that off. I'm hoping to finish off my other squad of Tree-Revs by the end of the week. Then I can prime my first squad of Spite Revenants this weekend :), and probably some Namarti Reavers and a squad from the Daughters of Khaine.

the new armour colours looks great and the gold trim on the cloak is a nice touch.

Very nice; that orangey gold works really well in combination with the blue of his cape.

Thank you guys!!!

I like how the front of the wave cloak came out. I'm going to have to clean up the bottom of the back of the cloak however. Came out a bit messier than I'd like.

I'm glad you guys like the armor, I knew I had to change it from the previous version because that version did not look so great, haha.

Still need to highlight the armor. May go back and change his flesh as well.

It's paint from dry-brushing my Tree Revenants  ;D.

Also there's a pen in there. ;D

Oh, I think they're supposed to either be tassels or his hair. I'm not certain which one it's supposed to be, honestly. Because the Idoneth don't have hair, they're all bald. Not certain if that's just how they do things or if they really just cannot have hair.

But the Eidolon, seeing how it is an Avatar of Mathlann, The Sea God of the Aelves might actually have hair lol.

Your army is getting big. Lots to do. Very ambitious. Those bases look great, after market or did you make them?

That's a lot of eel-monsters :)I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with them.

Those bases are interesting, I like the ball/socket ones GW does but these look even better.

Thanks, guys :)!

The magnetic bases are after-market, I bought them from a site called the 'magnet baron', besides eels, they do custom orders and have some more bases for various miniatures. A bit pricey for everything you need, but we'll see if it's worth it :).

I'll keep you guys updated on that.

It's been a huge pain getting my Idoneth to this point... many eels have been lost to mishaps over the last year and a half.

Feels good to finally come to a stopping point for the time being.

Another note, I've finally decided to sell the daughters of khaine. It was a sacrifice I had to make to keep my two current projects going.

Didn't want to be spending money on all three armies anymore, yeah a lot of that are trade ins and regular trades... but to get done with other stuff I want in the near future... just wasn't realistic to keep all 3.

Current plans for 2020... not certain yet.

Was going to do Eldar, but now I might hold off.

We'll see.

Wish I had the money I'd buy your DoK. I wish you'd get into the future, Eldar has been my primary army for 26 yesrs. Dark Eldar since they came out.
