Does anyone have a good guide for painting yellow eye lenses or know what colors I should be using as a progression, cheers.

Hey bud. Yeah the way I've done yellow eyes for my 30k Dark Angels is pretty simple... Baneblade brown to block out the whole eye... then Averland Sunset, Y'riel Yellow and then if I want to take it higher, I jump straight to white.

Taking it all the way to White:

Stopping at Y'riel Yellow:

Hope that helps! Please share what you are working on if you get the chance. Good luck!

I think GW do a yellow glaze. If you're not confident with blending such a small area, try just painting the lens white and then throwing the yellow glaze over it. Add more glaze to strengthen the effect.

I often do just this. The added benefit is that any glaze that goes over the armour tends to look like an OSL glow. Which is a nice, accidental bonus.

@Brash- No problem bud. Glad it helped!

@Looshkin & Bluew- Yeah you guys are totally right. Casandora Yellow Glaze is AMAZING.... the GW guys use it to paint their Iyanden armies and it look gorgeous. It'll even give you an orangey look in the deep recesses. Very nice stuff.

I need to start using glazes more often, but a lot of my work is done with an airbrush.

Honestly, my addiction to GW gloss washes is like a crack addiction.
