Void Raven conversion (in progress)
« on: August 20, 2011, 10:25:59 PM »
Here is my take on it. Used 2 razorwing kits and a few toher DE bits.

Size comparison

My idea for a void mine.

Nice conversion. It looks like a really cool and fun project.

I like the way you painted it too, although it looks like it was hard to pull off. How did you make it look like it was underwater?

That, my good sir, is by far the best representation of a Void Raven i have seen to date. Kudos to you for not taking the easy route and just saying a Razor Wing was a Void Raven.

Not so sure about the paint job though... I would assume it fits in with your army, but its kinda... Flashy for what ammounts to a Stealth Bomber.

Verrrry nice conversion.

Looks like it means serious business.

I suppose you will use it as a bomber or something like that?

I especially like the way you've painted the skull on the Razorwing, looks amazing.

Thanks everyone. I worked real hard on this. As for the paint, its not really that light as in the pic, darker but I wanted that real flame look. The name of my kabal is Azure Death so I use alotta blues in my army. Again thanks.

It doesn't matter what the *top* of a stealth bomber looks like ;). Besides, given the altitude that these things should conceivably be operating at, their stealth is far more electronic / sound based than visual based. I dig the paint job (as I have your others). Beautiful work!

Stellar work man. Absolutely stellar. I've talked to some poeple in my local group about doing a conversion like this, and no one thought it possible. Thank you for proving them wrong.

All i can say, if you ever make another, can we get a more detailed discription of how you put it together? If not, can i send you 2 Razorwings and you make me one? :P

Thanks Lachdonin, I appreciate the compliments. I want to make another just to do the front cockpit differently but I dunno if I wanna drop another $90 ta do it. I would be glad to build for you but you would have to pay all the shipping expenses. Plus I would have to figure out what I would want to do this for you but I know I could keep it as inexpensive for you as possible.

What could you possibly do to the cockpit to make it better? It looks amazing as it is now altogether.

Well Vashar, what I really wanted to do was use the fire prism clear pieces to make the forward cockpit but I couldn't find my extra ones. Don't get me wrong, I love the final outcome and was so so glad that they give extra jetbike cowls so I could achieve this. I hope to some day make it to a games day or some big event to show it off. I did take 2nd place in our local "Ard Boyz this year with tmy Dark Eldar and it did a good job on the table causing havoc. Of course it was still in the build stage when I went to the tourney. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to second round but I bet it would have been a blast. Thanks for the compliment.
