Firstly, welcome to 40ko!

I'm not totally sure what classify as flyers for DE either?!?
If you check the profiles section at the back of the 40k Rulebook they are listed - p.412 in the big book.

Shadowfield is a more common choice because it protects you against shooting as well as in assault.

Quote
Duke Sliscus
10 Warriors - splinter cannon
What's your plan with Sliscus?  He is most useful in combat so usually wants a transport to get him close to the enemy.  Also, there aren't that many units in your army that use combat drugs, so you are not getting the best possible return on the points you invest in him and his special rules.

10 warriors - dark lance, blaster
raider
Dark Lances in Raiders are a bad idea.  Because they are heavy weapons, they can only snap shoot if the Raider moves.  If you want mobile Dark Light, go for Ravagers or Trueborn with Blasters in a Venom.

6 reavers - 2 blaster, cluster caltrops
You are paying for 2 expensive upgrades here, but you can't use them both in the same turn.  I would choose one or the other and specialise in buzzing infantry or popping vehicles.

The talos doesn't fit in this list at all.  You are leaivng out the best unit we can field: the ravager.  It's cheap and packs a big punch for the points. Dark lances aren't the greatest anti-tank weapon and you will need to field them in mass.

You also have one assault unit and everything else is shooting.  If I was your opponent I would take out your incubi's venom and let them footslog the whole rest of the game.

I don't care much for scourges.  They have to get awfully close to the enemy to be useful and they are very fragile. I would drop them and the talos (and possibly the reavers) and use the points to get yourself some additional assault units.  I would either go for more incubi or more wyches. Either way put them in venoms with an extra splinter cannon. Use your raiders and razorwings to pop armor/transports and then clean up the infantry with an overwhelming number of poison shots.

Hi, thanks for the replies!

I have the duke in there for the deep strike raiders and venoms more than anything, then put with the 10 warriors with splinter cannons, then leave and run around as an IC, is this not wise?

Reavers, you make a good point I think I will have one squad with 2 blasters and one with 2 clusters

Scourge I just like the models lol but i supposed I like the idea of more reavers actually with 2 blasters would actually be more useful

Wyches just irritate me now as they can get shredded from overwatch and then maybe not even win combat because of amphetamine parrote strength :/

What are haemonculus like since the upgrade?

Talos I just want to use to soak up fire, surley he wont go down that easily?

i mainly play against nids and guard you see, advice is needed :)

Thnaks!

"Running around" as an IC is not a great plan - he will get shot until his shadowfield shorts, and then insta-killed with a heavy weapon.  You should keep him with a squad to soak up shooting, and ideally that squad would be vehicle-mounted to let him get close to the enemy quickly.  If you want to use his Serpent's Venom to buff some static warriors, then keep a transport with a gap nearby so that he can jump in turn 1 to charge the enemy.

I had a huge problem, especially with the switch to 6th edition, with my Archon making into an assault so I had to make some major changes to my list.  I put aether sails on all my assault elements and had them move flat out their first turn.  Besides giving them a great cover save it usually lets them move and assault the next turn if their raider is blown out from under them.

I also stopped putting my Archon with wyches or Incubi.  Wyches die too easily to blown up raiders and incubi are too few models and too expensive. I've used wracks with some success (their higher toughness helped a lot) which let me to grotesques.  You can fit four of them in a raider and their higher than marine toughness makes them difficult for small arms fire and blown up raiders to wound.  They are multi wound models and can literally form a meat shield around your IC. While not bad in CC themselves (I love my aberration with a scissor hand.  He gets a ridiculous number of attacks on the charge) they are a far second to the huskblade/soul trap death dealing archon. Once you get him into the gun line of a shooting army he can wreak havoc.

What are haemonculus like since the upgrade?

I like the basic haemonculus. I like to give mine a venom blade and a liquefier gun. He usually goes with wyche squads to give them a pain token and then stays in the raider when they get out. I usually don't have enough points to buy more than one or two in a game and if I have two then one of them is the first to be cut.  When FNP was 4+ I think they were a better option.

Talos I just want to use to soak up fire, surley he wont go down that easily?

He has no invulnerable save and a marine armor save.  I've had mine killed by a bored tactical squad with a missile launcher plunking away at him while he walked to the enemy. They aren't a horrible choice but I think they need a webway portal to get them close enough to the enemy to matter.  Another way I have used mine is reserving it and using it as a counter attack choice. This is also limited since you can't assault when you come on the board.  They are a decent choice but the ravager is a great choice.
