« on: September 8, 2008, 09:07:20 AM »

I like it!

It is very hard to paint brown/black/dark skin...
But you did it very very well...

Well done!

Yeah I like him too... and he is original... I thought, though, that Buddhists don't fight... Apart from that he is very nicely painted!

And you can use the Imperial Fists rules to play them...

I think the only suggestion I could think of is try to keep your workspace clean and free of dust.  Because I'm already seeing to dust fabric flakes on your model.

it is a real drag, i have a brush to clean them. it may have to do with the zillion ricefields around my house. if i let a figure stand a few days on the table it full of little hairs and such.

Very interesting and very original idea.  I once considered doing a unit of Nonviolent Orks wearing the traditional Saffron Robes and such - never quite got to this project.
BANNED - because spamming catches up with you in the end.  Especially someone who uses a school server to host Orks and loli.

interesting idea indeed, but I still don't get why you didn't do the armor in orange, so it would look like what monks wear...
well original monks that is, I've seen many other colors in movies. They tend to have other clothes in Japanses fantasy movies.
That staff needs rings in each hole on the top of the staff.

from what I've seen and heard on tv(nat geo) , those guys can fight, but no killin'

The Dark Moon Kabal ,possibly the biggest DE army ever!

i lookt at a lot of budhhist pictures and i just liked the yello robes and the red color combination. the marine is not finished yet, need to get thin wire to make the rings.

and there have been Budhist sects that has fough and killed, now they are mostly peacefull but that wasn't always the case.

While I can't say I like your background at all, it's a rather nice model.

I'm not too sure about the staff, though. Have you forgotten that three circles in that triangular arrangement is a symbol of Nurgle? Then again, at least you didn't illustrate the bhavacakra! Beyond that, though, I worry that the three circles might be a little small. 40k miniatures rely on a degree of exaggeration. I might make them a little bigger?

What you do not like my Background story!!?  ;D you are entitled to your opinion.

The staf is not finished yet i put some rings through the lower holes.
well buddhist symbols are also a lot longer than the 40k universe.
if put on a buddhist swastika i get other problems

I would say make a squad at least from them... you will see at that point that your desire to make an army will be so strong that you will not be able to resist it... and finally you will have a wonderful army for the table!

I think its pretty awesome looking, if you keep this concept up, you should include some of the tactical marines in robes, that sort of thing.

Always looking for a way to make CSM fun again.
