Meh. We'll see what they do. Right now, though, I'm thinking I'd prefer my crusty old has-been marines to these new fangled kids.

I'm a Kurt Russel guy, basically.

I like the rules, the models, and how they're slowly introducing them into the setting.  But what's the background to them?  OK, I know Guilliman and Crawl made them with a plan that started 10,000 years ago, but how are they made?  What makes them bigger and better than regular marines?

They probably eat more Supervitamins (TM)!

I've seen the stats for them. They look useful, but their weapon options are very limited, as is unit size. They are, at the moment, coming across as souped-up Sternguard.

Here's the datacard for them.
Primaris Space Marines: Gaming – Warhammer Community

They are not that much better, their range and extra wound are the biggest things.

I'm not quite sure what to think. They look nice for sure and everybody knows they'll replace the old range, given enough time. But after all it's just a lame excuse to sell 5 Tactical Marines for 50 or so bucks.

Then again, they do make sense in that they can represent ancient Chaos Marines that have grown over the Millenia. I see myself getting some and use them as "real Traitors" and declare my current Vanilla Marines "Excommunicate Haereticus Renegades".

The Fluff in The Gathering Storm was so bad, it's like some kids wrote it. I might even have preferred it, if they just released those models without adding (extremely poor) Fluff.
The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'.

They look nice. Not having an opinion on anything else about them till the entire 8th is out. Points costs comparisons and all.

Yeah gotta say... they really could of pushed the design a bit more. I like the change in the shape of the armor plates on the legs and chest but really feel they should have designed a new faceplate for the helms.

Don't get me wrong MK IV is my favorite MK. Its why I'm modelling my DA up in all MK IV, but I really felt a new design was necessary for a whole new MK of armor.

I'm not disappointed, just underwhelmed. I don't think I'll be adding these dudes to my collection any time soon. Very cool stat-line -in fact I love it- but the models aren't new/unique enough for my tastes.

I'm going to reserve judgement on the models until I can get a clear picture that shows a good representation of scale compared to the basic marine we have now.

Anyone seen the new Reiver models? Hol-ee crap they look cool.

I do hope they won't replace the scouts though. I like the hooded, cloaked look of them.

Don't forgot these two:

They're all just so, so....cool.

Can I say too, that the new bolt weapons are probably my favourite part of the new style.  The bolt rifles and those bolt pistols... :-*

Only issue I have with them is how the hell you pronounce their name lol.  Now, I know that GW wrote the name like that so they could have them be called "Reavers" while still being able to trademark them like they have changed the name for so many other things, but my issue is the heavy German influence in my life.  Family is German, city has huge Germanic routes.  So I see a something spelled with an ei like that, then I tend to pronounce it as an eye sound, like in meister.

And R-eye-ver just doesn't have the same ring to it lol.

I think the skull-masks make the "Reivers" (I'm with you, GML--blech) look like Batman villains.

If I could swap out the heads, I'd love them. As it stands...eh.

They look more like Chaos Androids in power armour or some bizarre variant of Skeletor with those heads.  I think that they look awful.

I super dig them. I really like the stripped down MK10 power armour look. I can't wait to see the rules for these suckers.

I hadn't seen them before you posted this and I agree with you in that they look cool. I especially like that they are Easy to Build and pre-coloured.

So I see a something spelled with an ei like that, then I tend to pronounce it as an eye sound, like in meister.

And R-eye-ver just doesn't have the same ring to it lol.

It's not much better in English. I before e and all that means that the letters ei are usually pronounced as ay. So I'm seeing Ray-ver.

But that is where English gets funky, because you get words spelled ei that have the ay sound light neighbour, but then you also get the ee sound like in receive.

Basically... English is beslubbered and I am glad it is my first language.  I would hate to have to learn this as a second language.
