Lol

Yes, I will add some bits to the BB. I'm too lazy to scratch build it all, i.e. weapons.

I will build just one. More doesn't fit the fluff. After all they BBs are supposed to be rare units.

I got the plasticard from our local supermarket. Actually, I found it in their trash container. You see, it was used for advertisment and they refurbished their interior with new boards. I picked up as much as I could. My cellar is full of it now. ;D

That was a great find (the plasticard at the store)!  I've heard folks going thru sign makers dumpsters for scrap too.  Is it hard to cut?

Excellent job, btw.  Looking forward to future installments.

Another update on the baneblade

As you can see I have added some rivets to the side skirts. I think it's beginning to look better now. The rivets were easy to do. I used the hole punch that someone suggested to me a long time ago.

The joints on the lower part of the skirts caused more effort. Again, I used the hole punch but this time I had cut it in two parts afterwards and glue it on the rectangular PC in order to have it look like a proper connection.

The turrets are not glued to the hull yet. I just put them where they are in order to see if the size fits. I will come back to them later on in the project.

to be continued ...

Update

Some work on the rear section / exhaust pipes. I will only build the two pipes on the left. The right side will get some sort of ladder in order to get on the tank.

Something does not feel right and I think I will take it off again.

A ladder would be nice :) but the exaust part looks good...i'd keep it on...at least until you have modeled the ladder alongside it :D

... although only a small one. I did some work on the upper hull. As you can see I was finally able to apply a technique for making rivets. I think it turns out ok.

Sorry about the picture quality but I'm too lazy to make another pic.

The rivets look good, what's the technique?  Or is it a trade secret  ;)?

It's really easy to do.

You need a thin sheet of plasticard and a nail with a blunt tip. Next take a pencil and mark the spot where you want the rivet to be. Place the nail on the mark and give it a gentle tap with something heavy. Repeat.

That's all.

It may take some pratice. If you hit the nail too hard, you will punch through the plasticard. Happened during the project several times.

I worked on the engine compartment, added a ladder and some more details. I also reassembled the exhaust pipes. IMO they look better now.

Sorry about the fuzzy picture.

As you can see I started some work on the back track wheels. The tracks will be next.
Also, I got lucky on ebay. I was bidding for some small BB bits which will give it a more "professional" feeling".

Update time

I added the tracks (which will need more detailing, btw) and a number of  port holes to the upper hull. I got them on ebay from someone who could use them. Lucky me.

After glueing them to the hull, I realized that I didn't get the right angle, ยง$?/*(=.

I'm not sure what to do next. It'll either be the turrets, the fuel drums or the tracks. We'll see.

I don't think the portholes do the rest of the model justice.
I'd remove them and file the correct angle in them if I where you.
But I'm not so I had to buy my baneblade.
Nice job keep it up.
Torture first, then you talk. It's better that way.
