Dean, I really like those wraiths. Good job with the greys.

WTG on finishing all 3 months. I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't (damn that month #2!).

We'll just say that Tuesday is the cutoff date for coming back and posting, given all the forum problems over the month. I'll lock it down Tuesday night with updated totals, then start a fresh new minty thread for Spring.

Got photos of the last two models I completed last month; the chimera (minus turret) and the rough rider.

The chimera has had a minor reworking. I really like the way GW designed the heavy bolters on the land raide,r, with the armoured cowling. I wanted to replicate this for my IG vehicles, I think the weapon now looks like it has a wider field of fire and can shoot up and down as well. The heavy bolter is from the IG heavy weapon squad set, and the cowling is built from plasticard. I lowered the hull of the chimera and rebuilt it with more plasticard to enable the turret (when it gets added) to shoot over it.

The rough rider is an extensive conversion using a plastic catachan and a horse from an old GW/MB game, Battlemasters.  Green stuff was used (like all my IG) for the furs and for the saddle. I used the arm with a grenade for the lance arm, and parts from the Ogre Kingdoms set for the actual lance.

@ Dean, the banshee is an exquisite bit of painting, well done.

@ Serious Callers Only - The models are not inspired by braveheart actually (not explicitly anyway). What actually happened was I once saw a BBC program about Cro Magnon Man invading Europe and wiping out Neanderthal Man. I thought the visualisation of Cro Magnon Man was really cool so these are more or less direct copies.

Either way, they look great. I saw the Neanderthal thing too - I see the influence now. Is this going to be a whole army themed like that?

Yeah, well it pretty much already is a whole army, albeit relatively small. I have maybe 50 guys made up like it, with around 80 more plastic and metal catachans sitting around waiting to don their furs. It's a slow process but worth it, I think.
