Topic: Necron 750pts

I'm thinking of starting a smaller Necron army that will be played now and then. My friends play Necrons, IG, Tau, Eldar and Nidz so hopefully the list should be able to play against them all . We usually play 2vs2 so I'll often end up with the other Necron player. .

Necron Lord w/ Phylactery and Destroyer Body
Will go with the smaller Wraith unit and hopefully wreak havoc, his stats's fairly good at least . Will be modeled as a bigger Wraith.

10 Warriors (x2)
Will march forward and be as annoying as you can get with WBB . Shoots at infantry and the few tanks that I'll encounter.

3 Wraiths
Will work together with the other Wraith unit and hunt the elite units.

2 Wraiths
Bodyguard to the Lord.

3 Scarabs 
Will probably deep-strike them and either draw fire from the Warriors and Wraiths or tie up units.

The tactic is pretty straightforward, advance and shoot while utilising as much cover as possibly.

Can this kind of army work at such a low points?, would it be better to use almost only Warriors and get some lone Wraiths?.

Ok I've been playing Necrons for a couple years now. I'm very against the Scarabs at a game of such a low model count. Remove both units of Wraiths and you can get another Warrior Squad with your lovable Disrupter Fields. You probably won't find another list with high a lot of Armor. But since you say you fight against 'Crons, IG, Tau, Eldar and Bugs, I'll see if I can tailor something a little bit better. And trust me, you need more guys. Your phase out is 7 guys. You have 26 bases to juggle against IG, Tau, Eldar and Nids, all of whom will be swamped.

I would be more comfortable seeing you drop the Wraiths and your Wraithlord and turn him into a regular Lord, get some more warriors and a few more scarabs. That will work perfectly IMO. Well godspeed and in the words of our people: '1001010110'

The scarabs is just there to be in the way and because I thought they would be better than 2 extra Warriors they were included.

What I like most with the Necron army is the Wraiths, they have great models and cool fluff and therefore I want as many as possible.

Would it work if I dropped the big Wraith unit and the scarabs and picked two lone Destroyers instead and some more kit for my lord?.

What I won´t make is a Necron army with 3 units of Warriors and Lord. I know that there isn´t that many choices in units but some variations is required.

lol, yeah, the thing that really sucks about the crons is that most of the time, the most effective list is simply mass warriors... simply because most of the other choices are simply ineffective or way too expensive for what they can do...however, I think destroyers instad of wraiths would definately make this army better. Also, I would consider a res orb (cause its almost like a standards item), but it isn't neccessary at this point value, cause you shouldn't see too many power weapons/strength 8+ shots at 750pts...although it is a personal choice. Other than that, try getting a few more warriors...
