I have found warpbeasts and talos are great, they almost always make it into hand to hand, since some missions u only start 18" from each other.  What do u guys find that works good??  Seems like jet bikes are a waste of time.  Thanks for your input.

  • What else would you expect?
I've never played a  cityfight, but i would assume close combat monsters would always be good, like as you mentioned the talos. I would also think indirect fire would be good (e.g. Whirlwind) but de lacks that. Also a blast weapon or two doesnt sound to bad, if your opponent will be forced into close quarters.
The real reason to collect Dark Eldar - if they fall on the floor the sharp bits hurt when your opponent steps on them

Well, wyches can actually survive, so I would reccomend a few squads of 15-20 wyches (don't need to get into BtB as well as lots of cover)

Other than that, basically cityfight is all about swarming. Use very little Raiders, rely on FoF and move from building to building. Hellions are quite good in cityfight
So I'm a Socialist, what are you going to do about it? Oink like the capitalist pig you are?

I recently played my first two Cityfight games.  First game I took a WWP army with a Haemonculus with Grots on a single raider.  Big squad of Wyches, Warp Beast pack, two larger Warrior squads and a Talos to come out of the WWP.  One Mandrake squad, one sniper sqaud and a 10 man / 2 blaster "mobile sniper" squad.  This army was very effective.

I also tried a more "traditional" DE list, Dracon with 5 Incubi on raider, wych squad on raider, warrior raider sqaud, 2 sniper squads, 2 ravagers with 3 dis, 5 reaver squad with 2 blasters and succubus, tooled out Archon on reaver.  This army also performed well.

I think that some of the less useful (or more difficult to use depending on your opinion) units can be more successful in Cityfight than in regular 40k.  For example, Warp Beasts, Grots and Mandrakes benefit from the abundance of cover.  Wyches on foot can actually be an option in Cityfight, even without a WWP.  The big thing you have to watch out for is flamers.  They can really ruin your day and since most other armies can have an abundance of them compared to DE you gotta be careful, nothing worse than assaulting your Wyches into difficult terrain and falling short only to have the whole squad wiped out by a couple flamers the next turn.

In cityfight i found everything works well in the DE army, cause of all the cover my opponents being mostly marines found it hard to kill my raiders and wyches, it was quite really amusing.
Not even a single shadow should be ignored, you may find yourself swallowed by it!
