Being That BFG is a 40k universe game, and this is a question regarding Eldar tactics, this seemed to be the place to post this
Anyway, I'm just now getting into BFG, and I'm trying to find my way with the very delicate but remarkably agile Eldar fleet. As far as the rules on them go, I'm solid. As far as tactics go, I'm a bit lost in some areas.
In particular, I am rather concerned about facing the Fleets of Chaos. While Impy Fleets tend to have lots of 2+ Holo-saveable lances, Chaos ships have a crapload of massed batteries, and quite frankly one extra column shift isn't going to save me.
So far I have these ideas in mind:
1. use torpedo swarms to force them to either take hits or move into a position where they cant get a good shot at you.
2. use that ordinance phase move to get into a position where they have to fire at you at +30cm abeam (two more column shifts)
That will them at the far right column for shooting at both your cruisers and escorts. Still, I've been crunching the numbers, and with that 4+ armor on the Eldar ships, even a few gunnery hits are going to be a problem...
Any Eldar BFG vets care to weigh in on this one?
I would love to be able to get some gothic games in over this EoT summer.
