Well, today I've officially "finished" my Striking Scorpions. Again in my Off-white x Ivory scheme (with deep-grey for weapons/etc.)
Here's what my "Army" looks like about now. 2 Squads of Dire Avengers, and my one squad of Striking Scorpions.
Closeup of my Striking Scorpions.
It was my first time working with metal figures, and I kind of screwed up a bit... primer on too thick, and missed a few bits of flash that I only discovered while painting... not to mention attempting to re-do greenstuff AFTER I had primed a first layer D=.
An over-view shot.
Here's a few pictures of the Exarch.
I modified his Helmet and Scorpion Chain Sword just a bit, as well as raised the angle of the left arm to make it seem like it was shooting the Shuriken Catapault on the Scorpion's Claw.
Also, here are some closer shots of the Female Striking Scorpion.
The Scorpion on the left is the converted female, and the one on the right is the original stock product that it was converted from. All the same parts were used in both models, and I'm very happy how the female turned out. It looks completely different from the original!
That said, the reason why I picked this model to use was because, the Striking Scorpion box set comes with five regular Striking Scorpions and one Exarch. These two were originally the same, and I wanted to modify one just a bit to make all the Scorpions in my squad unique.
Here's another shot of the female Scorpion.
I have also begun work on some of my Seer Council and begun magnetizing my Wave Serpent. However, I have decided to try my hand at the 40k Online Conversion Competition hosted by Dux Aurelius Elysius as seen here http://www.40konline.com/index.php?topic=180484.0
, and will be entering my Farseer conversion for this competition, when it starts on the 9'th of April. As such, this blog will see a slight hiatus, and my progress with the Farseer conversion can be seen here http://www.40konline.com/index.php?topic=181048.0
Also, please vote for me =3.
