ok, ive been hereing these rumors about not having to roll to hit with ordinance weapons, asthe explosion is so big its hard to miss and what not. i read the entry in the BBB, but i still doubt that you dont have to roll. plz help! it would help me alot!!

All I can say is read the entry in the BBB again. It's pretty specific about leaving out any statement that says you must roll to hit. Just follow the steps in the BBB and you'll be using ordnance correctly.

It really doesn't get much clearer in this game, if you have the BBB.

There are exceptions, like the IG, they roll to hit, and if they miss, it scatters, except the guess weapons. If they don't have to roll to hit, then it just scatters.

No.... Ordnance weapons in all armies work the same. The rules for Ordnance in the BBB were designed to be Guard friendly, as when it was printed, they were the only ones with any direct fire Ordnance, IIRC.

You could always call the Eldar eldritch storm direct fire ordnance. You don't get much more direct than that, considering it doesn't even scatter. But still, it hasn't got the same punch as the other ordnances...

And it does not follow the rules for ordnance. It is also a physic power, and does not require LOS (at least not if you are strict in your interpretation of the descirption). It merely uses the large template also used for ordnance.
But then again, so are deepstriking Hawks, and they are not ordnance, are they?

No, kawks aren't ordnance, neither is the tau rail gun, or the tyranid spore mines, or eldritch storm, they just mearly use the template. Orks, maybe, okay, I'll give you that one, but what chaos thing? Oh, and titans and war machines don't count.

Iron Warriors can take Baslisks and Demolishers, and all Chaos have access to the Defiler, which basicly has a Battle Cannon on it.

There are times when it's appropriate to tell someone off, and this would be one of those times. Why did you have to point out one of my mistakes Samurai when there are countless others making far worse mistakes on these boards then me? On this post alone, Deaths Face said "bestest" which also isn't a word and should have been substituted with "best", Warhoon said "much clearer" when proper english says that he sould have used "much more clear". This was your first post on the whole topic and of course, like the rest of your posts on this site, it contained nothing of any importance.

The Chaos Defiler has a Battle Cannon. This is, naturally, a big, mean, nasty Ordnance weapon every Guardsman knows AAAAAALLLLL about.
