Well, in preparation for the Fifth 40KOnline UK Tournament, I'll be painting mostly Tau this month! So here is the list.

  • 4x XV-88 Broadside battlesuits (build/convert 2, other 2 already built/converted and primed)
  • Finish Pathfinder unit (8 guys) (see WIP thread)
  • 6x Vespid (3 assembled and 3 to be done)
  • Hammerhead tank with Rail gun (built and primed)

Then the fun stuff! (Assuming FW comes through for me)

  • Valkyrie
  • Baneblade
  • Shadowsword

Yes, that is a lot of Tau, but once the above is done I will have for future challenges:
  • 36x Fire Warriors
  • XV-8 Commander
  • 4x XV-8 Crisis battlesuits
  • 2x Sniper drone teams
  • bucketfull-x drones
  • Convert and paint 4x Marker drones
  • Sky Ray
  • Hammerhead tank with Ion Cannon.
  • 3x Devilfish
  • 3x Piranha
  • 5x XV-15 Stealth suits
  • Commander Shadowsun

The date of the tourney is the 1st September so 4 months in total, I need to break out the Jolt Cola!

I think you'll need to break out the crack man.  for this month alone that is a lot of stuff (even without the FW tanks).  More power to you though.  and a tournament is always a great way to get your butt in gear.  plus a little extra motivation in the painting challenge.  If you get this months challenge done, the crack is on me.

Hey there.

Been a long time lurker on the forums and always liked the idea of the painting challenges. I've been trying to join for a while now but I kept having problems with my registration (the confirmation e-mails didn't work for some reason) - but as you can see, that's all sorted out now.

Hmm. I'm a rather slow painter so I'll start small. Put me down for one Tau Sniper Team, A Wood Elf Lord on Stag, my  nearly completed Commanding XV8 Crisis Battlesuit and six Firewarriors.

Thanks.

Good hunting.

welcome to 40k online!

these threads are indeed to inspire (er pressure) you to paint! nothing like a voiced commitment and a little group peer pressure to get it done!

Serious.....    you need to pin your wife down.... ...... really lol

Thanks for the welcome.

Quick update - my Tau Commander is now in the final stages and only needs some extra bitz done - hopefully I can get some pics up in the next few days. Sadly I did not have the foresight to take some pics before I started painting the final touches (basically just his weps left when I started), but I should be done with him soon and I will remember to take pics of my other projects as they progress (These are constructed and based).

Good hunting.

....and that's my motivation sorted for this month. :)

@Kitsune Tsuki: Can you move the FW vehicles to "if I have time"? That was why I had them under fun stuff.
Don't worry WG, you only have to pay if I do everything on the list (including the FW).

EDIT: BLOG thread started. Well, renamed anyway. :)

Well, targets are always good and I've got a few aspect warriors in need of being (re)done.

Therefore, I vow 10 Howling Banshees and 10 Dire Avengers (including all 3 Exarch torsos).

I'd better get going.

I'll vow for this month (and pictures will be posted in the thread I have on here tracking my progress):

1 Warp Spider Exarch
10 Warp Spiders
1 Fire Prism
2 Jetbike Warlocks
5 Dark Reapers
6 x Guardian Jetbikes

I have to have my 1500 point games day army painted by June 23rd, so whatever I dont finish this month (plus some stuff im still getting in) will be next months vow.

Yowza.

This seemed to work for my friend col.gravis who painted more IG in a month than the last two years combined.
So my vow is to complete my AI Tau air caste and a fire warrior squad from my new Tau army, so here we go. I vow to paint the following
  • 6 Tau Barracuda
  • 2 Tau Tigar shark AX-1-0
  • 12 Firewarriors

Updated vows.

I got 4 Grey Hunters done, with the exception of one not having a bolter. Though, they were already 50% done when I started.

EDIT: 5 done.

I've got to finish painting my army for the Vegas GT on June 2. So here goes.

1/2 Forgeworld Avatar
Maugan Ra
11 Guardians (4 are Vibro Cannon Crew)
6 Orion's Hounds
4 "Counts as" Harlequins
1 Warlock
1 Jetbike
9 Dire Avengers

33 Models. Phew! I better get this done.  I hate compromising my list in tournies.
The Dire Avengers are really whats scaring me  :-\
I'm off to go paint that jetbike right now :)

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism."
- Hermann Goering (Nazi)

So it goes.

I'm with you on that one, they've definitely raised my estimation of the Citadel paints range. They're certainly going to help with the twenty Stormtroopers on my list.

i really envy you. i had 3 days off work and couldn't even manage to pick up a brush. and since we are both painting the same race, your success emphasises my failure!

what colour scheme are you going with?

mine is based on the Guardians of the Covenant scheme and looks quite effective (even though i am painting them) but i am using mechrite as the base for the red robes and it is looking good!
