So the idea of this list is a horde that focuses on specialized types of infantry, good battalions that they can all fit into that buff them, competent heroes turned more powerful because of the wealth of artifacts provided by said battalions, that together buff the specialized infantry of each battalion in turn.
The Chainguard are my objective holders / Tarpit unit, that will probably melt like butter once the battle is joined. The trick here I think is to have them function like one cohesive unit, just divided into two smaller parts. The Guardian of Souls that leads this battalion possesses the Beacon of Nagashizzar, which gives me additional models to resurrect each turn, on top of the resurrection buff that the Chainguard battalion already gives.
The Shroud Guard is led by the general, a Knight of Shrouds on an Ethereal Steed. On top of the increased feel no pain save that all Bladegheist Revenants receive by being in his presence, the KoS also posses the Ruler of the Spirit Host, which allows me to bring some of them back after they die. Also his aura will lend the Bladegheist more attacks than they already have. The KoS also possesses the Dreadbolt Ring, which if I remember correctly, gives some extra mortal wounds as long I managed to wound at least one model in a given unit.
The Death Stalkers make up the bulk of the army, and is the battalion that I've been thinking on the most. I'm not certain if I'll keep this battalion, but I think it would be useful for using the battalion's special ability on a frightening enemy unit and have the all of the units in it focus them down with an overwhelming deluge of attacks. Also both units seem very decent, at least on paper. I think this is a cool battalion theme that I would like to experiment more with and see how I can maximize it's poential.
Lastly, there is a Dreadblade hero not tied to any specific battalion. It was either him or the lord executioner, but at least the Dreadblade can offer my KoS increased protection. He is equipped with Shadow's Edge to give him an extra combat punch.
Any thoughts?
