Razyu, seriously, your stuff doesn't even NEED to be painted. we give bonus points for fully painted forces to encourage it, but its not a demand! And, as mentioned, if you need some units to boost your army value then there are a number of us who would be okay with lending you stuff to get you playing.

I don't know where you are, but if you still don't want to play, then consider coming down and saying hi. We have no charge for visitors.

Just waiting to hear back from THW about them starting ticket sale. 'Cos of the long Zombie weekend it may take a little longer than expected...

Unless it's against the person who owns the army, in which case it counts double.

Wouldn't be the first time Tarrin has been beaten by his own army.

There you go Rayzus, not only have you got an army, you've also won your first game.

You guys!  :-[

In fairness, it's slightly more complicated as it's my 21st that weekend as well-plus I don't think I've played a game in  4 years or so. But here we go, I'm going to endeavour to try and get some modelling done and reconsider in the near future.

Thanks for all the helpful offers though.

So I will be bringing any army I can actually get my hands on painted......but hopefully I will be turning up with a random forgeworld inspired marine list full of stupid costed/rules units :-/

Sorry I meant cool models.

Could you also add a +1 for me and he will hopefully be bringing along his first ever army (just started playing) Imperial Guard.

Ok guys after a quick tally, we have 10 confirmed armies and 17 possibles.
Of the 10 confirmed, 9 are imperial, 7 are spacemarines of one flavour or another, and only me with my tau are xeno's!
Come on folks I'm feeling a tad outnumbered here!!!

All that means is the person that brings the eldar along will win the tournament... and any Tau player is pretty screwed (we both know that MEQ can be a struggle for Tau!)...

Basically, they are all trying to make you quit... (again)...     :P

I wold normally sport my Iyanden flavoured army if I hadn't just moved and put it in storage  :'(
My Corsair army won't be ready in time which leaves me with Space Puppies or Khornite Warriors of Chaos  :-\

Stupid fiance telling me I can only have 3 armies in the house  >:(

I'll be bringing Xenos - Tyranids. I'll be confirmed as soon as the date is confirmed (or is it already - did I miss something?)

Yes, the date has been confirmed (first post) 19th August 2012 (Sunday).

I'm just waiting for Triple Helix Wargames to tell me they've put up the tickets for sale. So hopefully we can start buying them very soon. I'll let everyone know as soon as they go on sale so make sure you keep checking back on this post for updates.

I'm uncertain what route is the best to take when it comes to airplane travel and armies but if I get to go I will most likely bring Tau or Chaos Space Marines, leaning towards Tau. It would be cool for someone to bring Necrons, I haven't seen much of them yet so it would be very interesting to see what they manage in a tournament.

@ oink : Oi! I've only flounced off from 40k once you cheeky beggar ;-p
For that cheekiness I should challenge you!
However I've only challenged 1 person in this tourney, and he tabled me in 5 turns and went on to win the whole show with 4 tablings!
So I'm not going to give you the pleasure! :-p :-p :-p

I was waiting for you to chime in lol.
3rd army actually! Nids, custodes and tau :-p
I realised that if I sold all my old "fluffy" armies, and replaced them with cheesier ones, I stood an earthly chance against the three cheese amigo's who tailored their armies to wipe me off the board lol.
So pooh to you with knobs on! ;-)

Sold the eldar, sisters before quitting  :P    the harlies got shelved then sold to you too.
And i never said i was quitting "wargaming" just 40k  :P

However i still love the game so back i came  :)
I still get brutalised by you lot tho, as i cant vary my lists as my armies are only 1750 each, then you lot just tailor and clobber  ::)

Just a quick rules wise question O:nk...FW stuff allowed but no structure or mass points.
So flyers are allowed and Gargantuan creatues (seeing as they do not have mass points  ;D)???  ::)

As to which army to bring...hmm maybe Chaos Guard/Armoured Company or Tyrants Legion :)

I'm not actually familiar with the intricacies of the current gargantuan creature rules... will have to check these up in my FW books at home. Pretty sure they basically cover what used to be stuff with mass points so I'll see what the rules say. but... initially NO.

As for flyers, yes, flyers are allowed. the pack also notes that any pintle mounted weapons automatically have the AA rule as per the apocalypse book (hit on normal BS). In addition, the eldar firestorm and tau sky ray also have the AA rule. If you guys think this should be applied to other units then make your case here.

Note that the Hydra should not have it on account of the fact it already has a particular rule for taking on fast movers etc... (and its crazy cheap as it is already!)

Hmm if memory serves me right the Whirlwind has a non blast marked missile mode.
I think it should be AA mount for that mode.

PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you may be talking about the Helios pattern launcher which is (if memory serves correctly) a dedicated AA mount and not a mode a 'normal' Whirlwind can adopt.

Don't have the book with me (at work ::)  ) so don't shoot me if I'm wrong.
