Thank you for the kudos. Compliments are the fuel of this project.  ;D

Atm, photobucket is down due to maintenance. I just re-checked. As soon as it is back online, I will post more pics.   After that, well, expect a somewhat longer pause. I have to make more bridge pieces.

Ok, photobucket is back and so am I. Here are the progress pictures.

Nice work on the highways!

If you are going for and abandoned look I would find part of a Raider and make it look like it smashed into the highway. Sorta like it had been flying overhead and then got shot down.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Expect more to come. It may take some time, though. I'm trying not to rush the project.

Argh, don't remind me.

Anyway, it's update time!

I completed the bridge. IMHO, the design does have its potential. You may see elements of it in other buildings, i.e. the arena. And it certainly makes flying at low level a risk.  ;)

As I said, I like the way the bridge turned out and was curious how it would fit into the general theme. This is what Commorragh looks like at the moment.

Sigh, there is still so much work to be done. Mainly details to all terrain pieces. They look kind of flat. Then the arena, obstacles, one or two ruins and more bridges, etc.

Things are really starting to come together here.

I might suggest (for gameplay purposes) one or two means of moving between levels for non-flyer/skimmer based races?  Not that the DE were ever concerned about fairness . . .  :P

Any ideas besides the obvious ramps and ladders?

Considering the DE have anti-grav technology, why not make these little glowing pads and then if come up with say a little chart for house rules. For example:

Whenever a unit reaches a Grav Pad, roll once for all the units on the pad on the following table:

1-2. The units moves up one level

3-4 The units move up two levels

5. You may chose which level the unit reaches

6. The unit is vaporised as something goes wrong with the pad.

An anti-grav elevator? Hm,that's a possibility I will thnk about

;D May be a bit too much but the others rules look good. Thanks for the advice.

At the moment I'm working on a palace tower for my archon.

I know. It's too large but I'm really tempted. I guess I will either reduce the top section or make it a ruin.

I must think about this.

Good idea with the tower. It is a might big, but hey, who cares?

Okay maybe vaporisation was a bit to powerful. But you have to admit, it would be hilarious for someone to move a unit of Terminators onto it and then watch his most expensive unit go up in a puff of smoke!

Maybe it should be more like:

6. You make pick which level the unit reaches, but they take D6 Strength 4 AP - hits as something goes dreadfully wrong with the ancient technology.

Hi there,

I have to apologize for not posting any progress pics lately. I have to admit I got a bit sidetracked. I started two new projects.  ::)

Atm, I'm working on two kinds of DE flyers, the first one being the infamous Raven, the second one I made up on my own. The "research" for these two babies took quite a while but here are some pictures just to prove that I wasn't idle.

As you can see both flyers are still WIP. As these don't really belong into this thread you will be able to see them in the conversions forum once I have finished them.

In the meantime I will also work on the Commorragh project but at a slow rate, though. :'(

I've been thinking about how to get between levels (sorry for the delay, I changed jobs recently):

What about a contained gravity field - similar to the glowing pad idea, but basically you have an "invisible" cylinder (or whatever shape suits your style) that passes (read: cuts) through each floor with a top part on the highest level.  All you'd really be doing is modeling and/or painting the end pieces and cutting holes in levels.

You could still just use the standard rules for movement in/on buildings as I'm sure DE tech is a bit more reliable than Orks or even human tech.  ;)

If you're a bit of a masochist, you could even add something like this for a cool effect.

EDIT: Here are some extras from Hirst Arts for inspiration.

That's a similar idea to the one Insulin Junkie had. I like them both and I think I will go that way. It is to elegant to dismiss and those links give me already some nice ideas.

Perhaps I'll add some specimen tubes to my dungeons.  ;)

Thanks, you two.

Well, I don't know what to say except I'm glad you guys like the project. :)

I have halted it atm due to my other projects, rumour hunting, work, family, etc.

All terrain pieces are on the shelf waiting for the project to re-start. I have been collecting ideas since its hiatus, though. So, once I get myself back to work expect some more nice buildings and terrain pieces.
