Dark Angel victory makes me happy. Sounds like you all had fun. Good think I wasn't present to be the 4th Dark Angel player of the day.

lots of cool stats
just what I like to see :)
So close to second. In fact, Gonzon might not have had the luckiest day, but he did manage to keep one troops choice on one objective in his game against me, denying me that extra point I needed....

I had a great day and some hard fought games (kill points against deathwing, seize ground against mech guard and capture and control againts mech Tau are all tough match ups) which are always the best. I went to play games, but I was just looking through the mission pack noticed that it says there were prizes for 1st to 3rd, best army etc. Did these not happen in the end, or did I somehow manage to avoid them? I am fine with there being no prizes, I would just hate to miss out on one due to my incompetence :) ...

On another note, I notice that the rankings have now been posted. May I suggest a slight modification to how the average is worked out? Currently, if you play once and place in the top three, you hold that average score and hence ranking place forever. However, if you turn up to 10 tournaments and place, say 9th or lower in all of them you will be right down the bottom. If players gained an extra point for each tournament they turned up to added to their average, this would reward people who are committed to coming (but maybe are not great generals) while still allowing those who come to and do well in only a few to rank highly.  A quick example to illustrate my overly wordy idea:

2 players: P1 comes to one tournament and comes second
current system:
total points 10 average points 10
new system
total points 10 average points (10+1)=11 (attended one game)
P2 attends 4 games and comes 15th, 10th, 3rd and 5th
current system:
total points (1+1+9+7)=18 average points  (18/4)=5 (4.5 rounded up)
new system:
total points 18 average points  5+4 (for the games)=9
Thoughts anyone?

My pictures shoved to some music since I dont think the forum would appricate 30 ish pictures just spammed.
Well I apologise for the music. I just clicked random and then used that one and Im just to fooking tired to change it.

Bezerek/ Ben

Any chance of a link to the pictures, or failing that, email me them (smallfurryspider at google's service)? I forgot to take any pictures and I am "featured" in a few of yours...

The guy who was sorting out prizes for us went on holiday without actually sorting anything out  ::) there may be prizes at a later date but I wouldn't hold your breath  :D

thanks to those who organised the shenanigans, was another great year and i look forward to the next thoroughly

to the four I played:

Erriond - thanks for a great game and even more thanks for being a great sport in the post game FUBAR-realisation (we noticed a stunned unit has shot a boys mob to bits when i shouldnt have which would have swung a CC on the objective totally the other way)
you could have said tough and claimed a stomping victory, you didnt, thanks mate :)

Col. Gravis - what can i say, sorry again for my mutant ork shooting phase, they had no right whatsoever to do so well in the opening first few turns which really meant you were fighting uphill from the off

Jonik - once again the orks met with your grenadiers and much like last time it was a very close affair - 8v6 on KP's is a brutally bloody game and i enjoyed it immensely, it swung from you to me and back again almost every player turn and it was only my last few turns when my burna wagon of d-hoom rocked up to your lines i pulled enough in front to stop you catching me last turn

666_vrykokolas_666 - yet another rematch from last year, both of us with radically changed lists, mine for speed, his for heavy hitting daemons and if your reserve rolls hadnt staggered your units in one per turn i'd have been well and truely screwed
clearly the dice gods are Gork and/or Mork in disguise ;)

Hi,

I'd like to add my thanks to the organiser for another well run tournament.

Unfortunately I left my coat at the venue (only remembered when I was on the train back).  Did anyone pick up a black coat, or would the best thing be to contact the church direct ?

WTF?
how the... what the... why the... ??

I was clearly having a very bad day - things started off not too bad, getting a draw against small furry spider... but after a narrow loss vs bill (just one more turn dammit) i got creamed by popsical in an amazing display of utter failure. At least i managed to pip erriond at the post in the last, and ultimately longest game of the day!

I'll be back.

Don't feel bad mate, me (and my pants) have been regularly ruined by that beslubbering Nobs mob, they are almost impossible to shift. Pretty much the only thing I can think of that would deal with them is some massive pie plate of Dhoom or a super-suped up Carnifex..
The forum rules are fair and just. *twitch*

Hey all,

Thank you all for an amazing day, even if I did lose really really badly. It was painful!

Thanks to everyone I played. I had some great games and learnt a lot, not least of which was that you should never take unpainted models to a tournament, it wreaks havoc with the dice! Rest assured that next time I will have a fully painted and quite dashing army once more even if it means reverted to the trusty Eldar. Having said that I have great plans for some imperial guard tanks with plenty of plasmary goodness on them. Oink, I want a grudge match!

I will post a more comprehensive account of the day when I get time.

Please can I request that I am not tagged on facebook. I didn't really want to be in pictures, let alone ones with bart's arse, so I think that's a fair enough thing to ask isn't it?! :)

Thanks

Haha! Don't tell me you don't want your normal friends seeing you at a hobby event Jonik!? I moved in with some new house mates this year and had to have the "this is my hobby" discussion when they saw some of my guard on the living room table. It is always the same...

Hi guys,

Thinking of armies to use next year already lol.
The pack states you dont allow mass or structure points. Now the IAApoc has the trigon without mass points will that be legal?  :)
These are my thoughts and opinions.

The no monstrous creatures was a typo from last year IIRC. No monstrous creatures would be rather absurd for tyranids etc! ;)

I'm afraid not Popsical, while it may not have mass points it is still a gargantuan creature (will make sure the pack gets updated) and thus not really suitable for the tournament, sorry  :-\ You are however welcome to use the Malanthrope, Stone crusher Carnifex or Miotric Spores (though those spores just throw out kill points!) from the book though!
