...are you asking us how to play Warhammer40k by yourself?  ???

Because that is pretty self explanitory, although I don't think it will make you any better at the game  :)

Its very dificult to play alone, i find Lord of the Rings much easier, because of scenarios and stuff. So i sugest make up some new scenarios and try it, but the game kinda requires two players. If you live in nor-cal, then i know some good hobby stores

That's the funniest thing I've ever heard!

yeh theres only one guy i mainly play (my housemate) but he only wants to play once every 6 months, so i'm stuck wanting to play 40k, with an eagerness to put into practise my army and what i've read about --- wanting Expereince! but...nope...only until my housemates wants to play...and then he always wins....he got such a massive fire power army, and he's got the dice rolls to back him up. its a sad story  :-\

But seriously: there's noone around where you live? No hobby store, nothing?

I wonder if there could be a way to randomly determine what one side is going to do. Not senselessly random, but according to a kind of decision tree with random choosing of branches. It wouldn't be challenging, but it might be entertaining.
I am always off by one. Always.

Apparently nobody knows what my name means.

Hm. Try doing this.
make some tunnels/small 15*15 cm battlefields, with 2 exits or more. Make yourself a Killteam/one small unit (max 6 or 7 models, no vehicles etc) You come in from one side of the battle field, and must fight yourself to the exit, facing alot of cheap enemies (feral orks, conscripts/ig, those kind of things) and maybe a boss. the enemies must always walk directly to you and fight... when you get to the exit, roll a dice to see what your next battlefield will be.
Playing on your one wouldn't be much fun, but you would get a hang in what your characters can do. I found it hard to play with others at first too, but you should just try to participate in the combat patrols etc at GW/hobby store if you have one in the neighborhood.
There was this online LOTR SBG thing, but I can't find it ATM.

Many towns have warhammer stores and some of these arrange playnights so you should deffinately do some research and find the one nearest to you. Good luck  :)

Poor fella. I have a gaming group of about 40 ppl to play with. . . .

If you live in holland and somewhere in noord brabant then I can ''intergrate'' ya in my gaming group making you a member.

Try to look on school for someone that plays 40k. Or the internet there has to be SOMEONE near you that plays it. There are ALOT of players around here but most play at home while we play at a VERY large store. .. . We also do non 40k activities like going out together to the cinema laserquesting paintball and such stuff to ''strenghten'' our bands. Heck we even started to smoke weed at the same time :P.

But back on topic. Have you ever looked in your city for a gaming shop? Better yet WHERE do you buy your models? It can't be that you are the ONLY one buying them. Ask them who buys them besides you and ask if you can contact them or hang on a note with your phonenumber or something to meet eachother.

Hey I think I just came up with a pretty decent ID XD wow thats rare better call the newspaper about it :P.

40konline should try frappr...
something like this http://www.frappr.com/thelastalliance
just so you can track down other players in your area... And 40konline would provide a good forum to discuss playing together..
I had some trouble starting to play too.

The one person I know who plays doesn't have the codex and I am building his army for him. The hobby store I don't want to play until a campaign starts. How I cheat is I always pick a team and roll the best possible and the worst for the other team. So anyone play at Time Warp in Cedar grove, NJ?

I've tried playing with myself, but it's never as good as playing with someone else.  I always end up feeling very unsatisfied

I don't live in NJ, but I do have one suggestion:

Play Kill Team.  At least that way, some of what your opponent does is random...

And try asking around at school/work.  You may not know someone, but not know he's into 40K.  As a matter of fact, there's a guy I've known for more than ten years and I only just got word he plays.  You never know.
Warhammer 40Kism:

You have two cows.  You spend weeks painting them blue and yellow, and earn praise for your creative color scheme.  They get shot by futuristic weaponry and fail their armor saves.  You conclude those dice are cursed, and decide never to use those dice again.  You decide to start collecting chickens instead.  You wonder why people tell you that you need to get a life.

check this out, maybe you can put in other nearby cities and find other clubs. usually stores have a certain night that people gather to play 40k for example saturday or something. ask the guy what night and when do people usually start showing up.
