Dire avengers - my take
« on: October 30, 2007, 11:31:59 PM »
There are thing to be done here if I want to spend some more time but I don't want to. Not at least now.
These guys are ready to bladestorm anything to smithereens.  ;). With addition of this squad my army is actually becoming battle worthy, far from optimal but ready to be shown in full.

I bet your army would look really cool on the battlefield to see. Individually, they almost seem out of place with reality, but with like your previous autarch and I am sure other portions of your army, the colors merge to become a sight-seeing experience taken with the whole..

It fits for Eldar.

Beautiful representation of Dire Avengers. The only thing that i don't like is his right arm. I think it would have looked better (although not really eldary) with him dual blasting catapults like a Mon Keigh (sp). The conversion on the banner by putting the power polearm ontop is a nice touch. Since it seems like you got some talent at painted i'd be interested to see what you do with the rest of the aspects. AWESOME WORK.

Those really are excellently painted, but I despise your choice of colours (though that may just be lighting).  The turquoisey highlights really don't get along well with the midnight blue, and painting the loin cloths and guns in the same colour as the armour means the only thing to break up the model is the crests of their helmets, meaning they come across as something of a mass of one colour.
I carry with me an Inquisitorial Seal. It is a small, unassuming object contained in a neat box of Pluvian obsidian. It is a modest thing. Relatively plain, adorned with a single motif and a simple motto. Yet with this little object I can sign the death warrant of an entire world and consign a billion souls to Oblivion.

I like them a lot. I think the colors are actually pretty wicked lookin. Not something you see very often.

Really great painting! It's rare to find painters with style not just skill. Is that the Altansar rune on his banner?

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism."
- Hermann Goering (Nazi)

So it goes.

Brilliantly painted but the posing on the exarch gets on my nerves. But thats just my taste.

Superb quality painting. No doubt

I have a question to their posing though. I can see that you kept the left hand empty on several of the soldiers instead of having it support the weapon. What's your plan with this? Will you place explosive devises or communicators in them or something?

The orange really helps create a ghostly appearance, but it's to much on the mohawks in my oppinion.
