I plan to pound the battlefield hard with my fire raptors, widdle down squads and use my hammer and anvil units to assault. The contemtptor with the butcher cannon was a tasty option with the -2 Ld modifier coupled with the night lords trait.

Hmm, I'm not as familiar with some of the FW stuff, but a thought on your CSM troop squads: it might be worth giving the Aspiring Champions Combi-Plasmas. I've seen a lot of squads like "5 marines, Champ/Sergeant has Combi-Plasma, 3 Marines have bolters, 1 has Plasma gun" and this seems like a good loadout, even if it exposes your Aspiring Champion to death via overheat.

Please avoid bumping your army list with one liners in future, it's against forum rule 2g.  I have removed the offending post.

I think that you would receive more advice if your list were easier to read.  It's not necessary to post all the default gear that each unit/model has.  You need only list the optional choices and upgrades for each squad.  You also need to bear in mind that not many of us here have experience of using Forgeworld units, so it's difficult to give advice about them.

I am not certain whether you will be able to execute the strategy that you are planning with this army.  What are you using for your anvil?  The Chaos Space Marines?  If so, I think that you need larger squads.  The anvil also only wants to assault as a last resort.  Keep it shooting for as long as possible and encourage your opponent to come to you, while your hammer strikes hard on one flank.

Speaking of the hammer, the Chaos Bikes are obviously one element, but what is the rest?  The Terminators?  The gunships?  I think that you need more units on the table as part of the hammer than just bikes, otherwise the hammer is unlikely to have enough of a cutting edge to it.  Remember, it needs to hit hard and fast and break through your opponent's flank, a bit like a cavalry charge.  I am not sure that I see enough in your army to be able to accomplish that.

A clearer idea of which units comprise the hammer and anvil would help to perhaps give clearer advice as to how to improve this army and/or to understand how it's going to work.
You haunt my in-box like an ex-girl friend could only dream of.
