Spoils of War is Vanguards very own team competetive campaign weekend.

It features….

5 games of Warhammer 40k 6th Edition.
1000 - 2000pt games.
A wide selection of Forgeworld units permitted.
Teams based on the codex.
Tactica cards
Choose your own tables
No list submission before hand (we trust you on this one)

£25 per place. Or a one day pass at £15 for the Saturday or £10 for the Sunday.
Rulespack here: EXTERMINATUS PAGE.

Watch this space for further details! Rulespack will follow but this is a great event, check out the pictures of last year's campaign weekend which was themed with rules and terrain for the necrons! Ooooh pretty terrain! ;D

Tempted.  Will give me a short-term goal to whip my army into better shape.

Will the teams be pre-determined, or worked out on the day?

Worked out on the day previously, which I believe is the plan this time. We have a cunning system which makes this work much more smoothly than you might think.

The trouble is that campaign weekends (or weekend long events in general) don't fit well for me. I'd love to, I enjoy campaign events more than tournament ones that's for sure... but I can't say that I would be able to make it :(

My travel plans involve seeing if I've got a job by then, as if I do, they might not appreciate me taking a long weekend off just to go gaming. If I'm still temping or I'm unemployed over that weekend, though, then it'll be much easier.

well, its normal for new employers to honour existing "holidays" booked prior to employment...

On the one hand that's true, but on the other hand I'd like to see how the current batch of applications pans out first. It may be that I'm still temping come November, in which case I'll have accrued holiday-time anyway.

I believe what Oink is trying to say that she who must be obeyed would not be happy? :P

Or as Mutley would say he is a Nancy (Sorry Oink could not resist ;) )

lol, well, yea, I suppose! But it's also that with me working relatively long hours the weekends are the only real quality time I get with my son (and "the boss").

As it happens, I've been informed that we have at least one wedding to go to in November, and we think one of them may be on that weekend.

Well tell them to reschedule the wedding :P

Or send a proxy of yourself.
Maybe a life size cardboard cutout that the boss can tug along and put beside her whenever you should socialise.
Just remember to be smiling politely on the cut out :P

Careful.
Tarrin did that at the last event and look how that turned out...

If I can put my thread back on the rails for just a few minutes, I'd like to point out that we've had an update in ticket policy! You can buy one day tickets to only attend part one day!

So get in there Oink!

And Oink does not have excuse now...unless wedding is on saturday and he'll be so hung over from partying ;)

hayo have you thought about moving here?

Actually I have lol.

Seeing as:
1- I love the country and the peeps :)
2- I simply love English women :)

Cons:
Have job here....and a well paid one (for someone with no uni education) that I rolled into 13 years ago :)
Rare to get a contract for unlimited time now a days.
And with only working 4 days a week I get paid +/- 1750 euro cash every 4 weeks...for doing practicly nothing more then watching vids online, being online here and occasionally helping a customer that needs to sign in :)

PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
