Vanquish, 40K Tournament, 31st March/1st April Bristol UK
« on: December 5, 2011, 04:00:13 PM »
This March/April will be the 2012 Vanquish 40K Tournament and this year will mark The Bristol Vanguard’s 5th Anniversary of the event.

Among the usual tweaks and improvements on the last Vanquish, 2012 will feature 1750 point list limit, which is less about following the current trend but more about giving those extra points for you to add a little extra flavour to your lists in the form of forgeworlds units.... thats right! you read it here, forgeworld units in a Tournament..... and why not.

We run a mild comp system to allow players to avoid games against the same old netlists and add a selection of special secondary objectives for the tactically minded to go for! And the traditional Vangard food stand will be in attendance, with a selection of finely priced and tasty home baked snacks and sandwiches!

Also, in celebration, every entrant will be entered into our very own Vanquish prize draw based on the number of previous Vanquishes attended. Aren’t we a nice bunch of war gamers?

So, click HERE for a copy of the rules pack and application form. Tickets £25 each.

Tickets tend to sell out on this one but if you're keen on attending a well established tournament on some great terrain then its a good one!

I might come.  If only to hang out with people.

The effort involved painting armies...and playing games with Orks...  Yeah.

Me too. I'll see what Tarrin is up to, and perhaps my bro, Final Justice. Another mate of ours is up for it too.

Same old for me... difficult for me to break away for a whole weekend of gaming... maybe if I ask and poke enough then I'll get a green light. I'm eager to head over to one of the Vanquish events but never manage to materialise there!

PS: are you sure a tournament on april fools day is the best thing??

I'm also going to try this year.
Again, it's the whole weekend thing that is the potential sticking point, but I suspect if I book it early enough I could be fine.

I have sent an email requesting a spot be put aside for me. Its a great event.

However, everything about Tarrin is unfair and should be sanctioned with extreme prejudice.

The Globals have issued a 2:1 ruling that yes, yes everything about Tarrin is indeed unfair. We have also been sullied merely by contemplating this.

So.. Moz Peachy thinks he's better than everybody else eh!?

Sorry I won't be able to make it! Two day events look like they are right out the window for me...  :(

For a shameless hijack, I'm in contact with triple helix wargames about setting up the next 40kOnline (1day) tournament so hopefully you'll all be up for that!!!

Me too - I can do it if I can get my parents to look after my kids, and they are asking me about dates so that they can book their weeks away. I get first dibs, IF I can get my date in the diary first.

If all fails you can always drop them off at Oinks child daycare center for 40k addicts ;)

Likewise. I have loads to deal with over summer so dates asap.  especially as i intend to order a pimms and lemonade with my curry!

11/12 August would be best for me!

However, everything about Tarrin is unfair and should be sanctioned with extreme prejudice.

I've e-mailed Charlotte from THW about it... either the 2nd, 3rd or 4th weekend in August. Waiting to see what they have free... I've said that sundays would probably be best. That way people can head down the night before on a saturday without needing to worry about getting out of work / uni etc... and we usually finish before dinner so it should be okay to get back before monday!

Also, g00gle5 tells me that he's been working on some new (and interesting) plans for this time around.

I hope I get more confirmation from THW before the end of the month.

Again, sorry for hijacking.
