Small Game For Elites
« on: May 12, 2011, 10:41:18 PM »
I got this Idea off GW so maybe some of you are familiar with the concept.

Marine outpost, dead of night, Tactical Squad, 5 Terminators, Dreadnaught and a Captain. (Basic set up for all units)

The Objective is simple, Infiltrate the Outpost and Kill the enemy Captain without yourself being destroyed.

1 Elite unit at no more then 150 points. per player.

I Chose
10 Kommando's W/ 1 Burna
Nob W/ Power Klaw and B.Pole
145 points

My Brother Chose
The Death Leaper
140 points

First 3 turns are going to be Night Fighting rules.
We are going to roll a scatter dice for Marine movement and direction.
The Captain will be treated as an Independent Character.
The outpost will have half of the tactical (Battle Tactics will be used) 5 marines w/ R. Launcher, The Terminators and the Captain himself. The other 5 marines W/ Sergeant and Flamer will be used with the Dreadnaught and his search lights as Sentries.

What do you guys think?
All I do is pwn. WAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Sounds good :D Is from the article where they had DA scouts and a Vindicare attacking an IG force?
Nice little scenario to play.

You might want to look at the Kill Team rules too. They're in the Battle Missions book and are good for small elite games.

Looks nice. I would probably go with stormtroopers, although I would forgo deepstriking as it would be a bit unfair to win or lose in a turn of shooting.

Good idea.

I do like the idea, although I'd go for an Imperial Guard outpost instead of a Marine one.

Second that. Marines are too valuable to stand watch, they are always being deployed to where they are needed, not left to watch an outpost (unless they are scouts). Regular guardsmen are ridiculously expendable, so they make better "stand here and wait for something to happen" units than marines.
