Just recently had an idea about the triarch stalker that I thought I'd share. I really like despair techs and their flammer templates but dislike how I have to add a unit of death marks to make them really viable against 1 target.
Though it only works with certain builds (those with a lot of transports), Necrons can theoretically pump out a lot of twin linked flammer templates for horde duty.
Its pretty simple.
Triarch mans a quad gun and fires at heavily armored or high toughness units.
night scythe or ghost arc, rolls up to marked target (be sure to add lords and despair teks)
re roll to wound for the twin linked despair tek or lord template
Now those ld 9 and 10 units have to worry about every troop choice hauling a despair tech and not just the deathmarks.
It's not earth shaking by a long shot, but like I said, I though it was an interesting idea.
