Barrage weapons and AP
« on: February 1, 2005, 08:25:39 AM »
What really doesn't make sense to me in 4th ed is that barrages against vehicles hit whichever side is closest to the vehicle firing the rounds. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the hit on the back armour as artillery usually hits the top armour of a vehicle and that's usually the 2nd least armoured part after the bottom.
Friend: OK, OK, hold your steeds of Slaanesh!
Me: I play Guard, not Chaos.
Friend: Fine, hold your rough rider mounts.
Me: You mean Horses?

Ah... there is a slight problem here

make more sense

This is not a game of common sense, or logic. It is just a simple game. It is simply easier to say "It hits the facing" rather than have to explain anything else. Besides, perhap (due to this very fact) vehicles have better armour on top in 40k than in the real world?

The only place 'top armour' is used is in Cityfight, but that is when something with a height advantage is firing down onto a vehicle.
