We among the Autarchs and Farseers thought it was about time to open up a competition. We want to start this PoC rolling on its way to becoming the best Eldar entertainment and information page on the WWW.
Presently the largest topic of discussion on the POC has been about the qualities of a good battle report and finding ways in which we can increase the number of Eldar orientated reports appearing for our enjoyment and mutual benefit. Therefore it seems appropriate that this competition follows
The Rules Bit:
1) Battle reports must be written by the Eldar player from the Eldar point of view.
2) Standard battle report niceties to be followed. Full lists for both armies, mission and deployment.
3) The style of the report is entirely up to you. Whether you give us a blow by blow account or a dramatized version or even a tactics driven version is up to you.
(We advise against video reports for now but may include them for submission in future competitions.) 4) Don’t skimp, we don’t want to see just a brief summary or overview of the result. We want detail and lots of it.
5) Put your own signature on it, make it yours. Wyddr uses Jpeg maps, Koval writes a story. Make it unique to you somehow if you can.
6)
Sign yourself up here on this thread. Your report must be posted as per forum rules in the Battle Reports section.7)
Once you have posted your report then edit your signing up post on here with a link to your report.8 ) The competition runs as of NOW until
midnight GMT 31st October 2013 9) The reports will be judged by a panel of judges who are currently being assembled (prodded until they agree).
The Prizes and The Glory
Prizes are on offer for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
1st – +3 Rune points
2nd - +2 Rune points
3rd – +1 Rune point
These points will be in addition to the 3 points you will earn ordinarily through posting an Eldar Battle Report and linking it to the POC
Furthermore those top three reports will then be archived in the POC Crystal Library for all to look at in the future.
Some guidance from the Judges.
Judge 1: Good presentation, I suppose. I don't want to see a wall of text, I want to see something that's presented nicely and is easy to read and follow.I'd also want to see something suitably descriptive, so more than "I rolled a 6 and destroyed Bob's Rhino".
Photos are optional but highly advisable so that we can A) see the highlights B) get a general impression of the battle itself. Beyond that... make it fun.
Judge 2: Personally I look for a clear and concise report that isn't too wordy and doesn't try to describe every single shot and assault.
There are quite a few different styles that all work well.
I'd say it really needs to contain pictures (though actually I've read some great ones without).
I Look forward to seeing your submissions. Good-luck and Enjoy
