Imperial Fists so far
« on: July 13, 2015, 04:43:41 AM »

So far: Chaplain with jump pack, scouts with sniper rifles, a Tactical squad, a Devastator squad with lascannons, and a nearly-finished Assault squad who will have swappable jump packs/backpacks (yay for magnets). Next up is a second Tactical squad, and two Rhinos.

I love me some Fists! They're looking good!

(Ain't painting yellow a be-atch? I swear painting my Fists take four times longer than every other army I own.)

Funnily enough the yellow is actually very easy. Spray white, airbrush/spray Flash Gitz Yellow, wash Casandora Yellow. The key seems to be spraying the first yellow coat in order to get it smooth.

You've just described a process three times longer than what I use to paint all my other miniatures and incorporates the use of an airbrush.  ;)

Well perhaps just buy an army painter yellow primer >< that should reduce the painting process by quite a few step.

Ok so back to main topic this guy's look real nice. To me imperial fist is one of the coolest marines color theme so :D  i like them a lot^^

Keep at it^^

Thanks for sharing that useful tidbit!  Yellow always gave me problems in the past.

Love it! The Imperial Fists 5th company has got to be one of the best looking and most iconic chapters of all the Astartes. They look great... keep it up!

These are looking good :)

Have you considered putting on some decals to add detail and occupy some of that shoulder real estate? Unfortunately, the FW Imperial Fists decals are out of print at the moment, but will be re-released soon (with additional bells and whistles). Maybe consider picking them up along with some microset and microsol, which makes them much easier to put on.

These are so crisp, they look great.  The drab look of the base lets the bright colors pop out, I especially like how the squad leaders and HQ are easily identifiable.  I didn't know for sure that the guy with the bone-colored hat is a Chaplain, but, I knew.
