What are the Comp Systems?
« on: June 23, 2016, 09:01:00 AM »
Hey, folks. I've heard Killersquid and others discussing various comp systems used in AoS. Is there a way we could get a nice little list of them here (maybe even with links) so those of us thinking about AoS could check them out?

Thanks!

Really, there is one main Comp system that I've used since SDK was disbanded. It's the South Coast Grand Tournament system. (SCGT)

The stuff for how it works for their tournament can be found here http://heelanhammer.com/scgt/[/url

I think it's the most popular, and the guys who created it were consulted by GW in the creation of the Generals Handbook coming out next month.

Another format I've heard about (but not used) is the Azyr format. It can be found here http://scrollbuilder.com/]http://www.louisvillewargaming.com/AzyrBuilder.aspx

The most simplest method is playing with a wound count. Then make a house rule on number of heroes, monsters and warmachines. I don't like this method as much, as it has less granulation then other methods.

The best method I've found, is see what tournaments near you are using and use that system.

There is an online army builder which supports SCGT points which is [url=http://scrollbuilder.com/]http://scrollbuilder.com/
it also supports other systems too.

All this stuff will be moot next month, when the Generals Handbook comes out.

That's not blatant, this is blatant: I'm super happy that I'm playing Austria, the greatest nation in all of Diplomacy!
