Question for Starting a Harlequin detachment
« on: January 10, 2005, 05:45:37 AM »
So in the revision it states that If I use a pure Harle list then I get the Eldar Squad disadavantages, so if I were to do the other way around, use a small harle band in a Craftworld Eldar list, would I still be hindered with example, no warlocks? because it would be odd that if a few harleqiuns joined a Eldar lsit they would suddenly lose Exarchs and other units

no actually i think thats ok, its more a case of the harles coming to aid or fighting at the same time, so no disadvantages.
whereas for the craftworld allies, theyve come to the harles, if you get me.

The Landraider is a perfectly legal option for a looted vehicle.
But keep in mind, that you can only use a looted vehicle if you also have a squad of mimes.
(This is stated on p.9 of the Eldar Online Harlequin revised codex)

As for eldar vehicle upgrades, I'd say that's a big no-no.
a) There are no vehicle upgrades presented in the wargear point-tables of any harlequin list
b) It'd be awfully unfluffy. The harlequins loot a vehicle to use it while it lasts - not to invest time and rescources in it on a permanent basis.
c) The vehicle may have upgrades from it's own codex though ^_-

PH471 is right. You could bring a looted vehicle only if you invest in a mime-squad as well, taking two Elite-slots in total. This cuts the effectiveness of the group, and this is why it was written so. Otherwise it would just mean that the Eldar players could start bringing any vehicle to the table using this rule. A bit weird.

Everything you move from the Harlequin list to the CWE/DE list takes up an Elite, regardless from where in the Harlie-list you take it.
10 Troupers, Venom and Great Harlequin used to take up three Elite-choices. Now that the venom is a transport they just take up two.

And yes, it has been sent to them, but not response has been given.

All we can do is pray that GW won't forget the Harlequins.

Otherwise we'll have to give them the laugh (litterally =)

Yep - that's what we're talking about too ^_^

Simply put:
Each and every unit selected from the Harlequin codex take up an elite slot when employed in an Eldar force.
(No matter what it was in the Harlequin Codex. A Harlequin wraithlord would become an elite choice)

Although the Harlequins are exellent troops, the Banshees still exell against marines as the entire squad have powerweapons. In a harlequin unit only three models can be equipped with those. Making the charge against a squad of marines a risky affair, unless you have softened them up (fx with Neuro-disruptors... =)

Not to mention you get twice as many Banshees for the same points as you would any Harlequins...

Yes - that is what the EO Harlequin Revision-thread is about.
However, if you use the CJ lists you are still stuck with it as a heavy.
