Don't use a boss on warbike if you don't have a squad of biker nobz with him. Im pretty sure his bike will go boom very soon if he's on his own.

I'd go with the first option.

I agree ...a warboss with out something good to mob up with is a dead warboss.

I wouldn't have Rokkits on your regular boyz - I'd save them up and make some Tankbustaz instead. Much more focus, better chance at cracking something big, and leaves your boyz more focussed for anti infantry/ heavy close combat (which is what they should be doing).

And I agree with the others about the Boss - it's biker boss and biker boys or no biker boss at all.

supposed in his personal choice but I would disagree, that a war boss on bike is not effective some of the most effective lists are currently using this Of course you do have to be cautious and make sure he is not an easy target.

after all Redbeard's at Adepticon 08 Gladiator seemed to do very well so it cannot be that bad as a reliable option. :P

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/210454.page

Option 1 is more all-round
option 2 squeezes in 9 kanon but does it make it less effective
option 3 squeezes in more boys to 170 on the table

In regards to my lists it's whether or not I use 3 kanon or 9 kanon has anybody played with they and is it worth squeezing the points to accommodate all of the above

I've run a Biker Boss without bikes before, it works just fine.  You just stick him with a squad that won't run.  Join the boss to the front of any unit that's going to be advancing and shooting; launch him whenever your target comes into range.  Da Green Torkpedo, indeed.  Your Shoota Boyz with Rokkits should make an excellent dock for your Boss.

Primarily, Kannon are cheap.  I've found that Ammo Runts increase their threat potential dramatically.  For the first couple rounds they'll be better shots than Marines, which is good 'cause they probably won't live much longer than that.  Many people will advise taking a Slaver and extra crewmen.  Personally, I think adding too much to the unit nullifies the Kannon's primary asset.  Also, I don't think adding crew is all that helpful, since the gunz are more likely to be hit by incoming fire.  I would just go to ground at the first sign of fire, and hope you have something left for your opponent to have to shoot at next turn.  The gunz don't benefit from +1 cover, but it'll keep them from running away.

If you take a lot of Rokkits in your Boy squads, you'll never be able to concentrate your AT firepower (too spread out).  If you take a lot of Kannon they'll likely be top priority targets for your opponents, and are too fragile to survive very long.  Really, I'd recommend Lootas.  They provide much the same function, but are much better at surviving to shoot for more turns.  Great volume of fire, too.

If you're dead set on one of the Options I'd go with Option 1.  It's probably just my preference but I like survivable Rokkits, and they're so well hidden in a 30 strong mob.  I'd find a few points to buy each Kannon an Ammo Runt though.  Just for fun.   ;D

Thank you Badb Catha  ;D some definitely good tips and suggestions by your post so keep them coming.

Had my first game tonight playing the list option one against the space marines.  In a

overall things went very well the game seemed to play very quickly ,there is a lot of boys on the tabletop to consider so I did not have any trouble moving them. Although any suggestions what is the best deployment did not really find a way to play the warboss he seemed to be a bit out of the action.

Also is it worthwhile taking out heavy weapons of close combat boys as it seems to be that the idea with themselves is to just run towards the enemy I could save the  60 points to spend on something else.

Does anyone have a clear mind of exactly what is green tide win factor is it simply you  swamp the enemy. Consuming everything in their path. Or can it be played more stand off using the armies shooting factor I did not seem to be doing this in the game.

So tips on deployment would be very appreciated
