I painted a killa kan squad with rokkits for my december painting vow.  One step closer.  I still got another squad of kans and a dread to paint though plus a crap ton of boyz.

And the army pic of my 1850 showed the kommandos in bear metal:  at the end of november I painted the kommandos, and a deff dread.
Deff dread

Kommandos

As a side note, can everyone who signed up and is still interested in doing this please post their intent to do so as sometime within about 2 weeks, i will be formalising this somewhat for the benifit od preventing the death of this thread.

Thanks

I ordered a large number of the new paints and am going to re-prime my entire chaos army in a matter of days and begin painting.

To be painted are:

1 Heavily Converted Daemon Prince
28 Plague Marines
-unsure mount of terminators, depending on how much I feel like finishing the re-conversions
3 obliterators
2 defilers

well i got the Mega Paint Set for Xmas (;D) so i can get started momentarily.
Since this is a 'Tale of Armies' thread, i was thinking we agree on a points value to be completed for this time next year and work monthly from there?
What do you all think?
how many points do you all want/have?
Any ideas welcome, its my first time doing this...

A mega paint set would be a great gift.  Santa wasn't so nice to me but I did get two $50 gift cards for ebay so I plan on getting somemore stuff.

I just made an army list on army builder for my ork apocalypse army.  As of today I have 4914 points of ork stuff I own in various stages from unassembled to, assembled, to primed, to partially painted to fully painted.

By this time next year I am hoping to have well over 3500 points assembled and painted.

I think a good goal would be doing a squad a month.  Leaves you some time to do lighter stuff if you want like a heavy choice in a month where you have a lot on your plate, yet on a slow month a squad of 30 boys, or a squad of 12 w/ trukk, or even a stompa or a FW model.

This should put you probably around 1500+ points for the year.  My average squad size ranges from 150-175 pts.. and consists of a mix of stuff.  Usually atleast 10 models except for dreads, kan squads, and heavy options.  But considering some of the squads I will have to paint like 30 boys will be a royal pain as of right now it takes 10 hours for me to paint 10 boyz to my standard.  A squad of boyz will be a project, as will my Stompa.

I am going to vote for a squad a month.  Gives some flexibility and will keep us focused.  12 squads / units should be enough to make our armies really shine or possibly complete them in a year.   Which is the goal I would like to aim for.  Plus that will give me some room if I want to stray a bit from my ork army and tackle an apocalypse unit.

I agree with the gy above, ( can't read his name my glasses are broke, which is odd as i could read what he'd written.) that would probably be the best way to do it.

???...........

So one unit/squad per month, + any extras? Sounds good to me, i'll give it until New Years day for the rest to report in and then we shall begin!

Oh, and i will probably be doing something similar to the "Points" system in the origional Tale of Four Gamers with possible prizes/bragging rights for the winner :) Points will be for mainly Completing Units, Painting quality, Konversions (?) and Fluff... If you object or have a suggestion, please let me know :)

My orky christmas conversion / painting entry.  Since it is the season.

Can't get under the bed in my spare room to get a small tree to go with them.  But you get the idea.  This was just kinda a side / off project but since it is for my army and I will probably be using the elves for ammo runts I decided to post it anyway.

Necrons you say.... now that catches my interest.

What are your ideas for a 5th Ed Necron army, as mine has florished and I actually find them more fun than most of my other armies in 5th Ed.

Cheers.
