List competition vs Necron Decurion 1850p -Firepower.
« on: May 12, 2016, 06:56:15 PM »
Windrider host: (785)
Farseer -Skyrunner, Stone 130
Warlock x4 conclave -Skyrunners 200
Vyper -Extra shuriken cannon 50
5x Windriders -Scatter laser 135
5x Windriders -Scatter laser 135
5x Windriders -Scatter laser 135

Wraithconstruct:
Wraithknight -glaive & shield 295

Aspect host: (420)
5x Dark Reapers -Exarch 140
5x Dark Reapers -Exarch 140
5x Dark Reapers -Exarch 140

Aspect host: (350)
5x Dark Reapers -Exarch 140
5x Warp Spiders -Exarch 105
5x Warp Spiders -Exarch 105

Total: 1850

I'm open to suggestions to fill out the final points, maybe singing spear or starshot DR exarch, or possibly ditching the WK's scatter lasers to split the aspect host into 2 hosts?

The overall idea is to have the warp spider take care of the spyder and it's critters, then just be overall annoying, possibly going for a kamikaze run into the wraiths.

Dark reapers are supposed to utterly destroy one unit of destroyers each, while hopefully managing to stay in cover, they will also go for the tomb blades once the destroyers are destroyed.

The windriders will pour their laser shots into the wraiths, and should be able to weaken them enough for the wraithknight to finish them off in combat.

The vyper will go for clean up duty.
The conclave is merely a counter charge unit, with psychic boosts, they should not have any trouble casting spells though.

Once the canoptek harvest and the destroyer cult is gone I'm expecting it being downhill from there, just focus on one unit at a time and close combat is always an option to finish units off since running down crons after they lose combat still works great.

Check the points values, as it looks like the numbers don't add up.

Also you mention Warp Spiders, but there are none listed?

The points should add up now, forgot to edit the totals for the windrider host, after swapping a windrider for a warlock, thanx :)

The Warp spiders have been there all the time in the aspect host, a unit of 10 with Exarch.

Edit: Oh, the wraithknight was a bit off too.

I checked the list 3 times, and still didn't see them. I blame it on a lack of coffee :-[

I am on-board with your thought of splitting the Aspect Host and make them MSU. It will make it easier for you to target different units as they destroy those cron-msu. I hate using a large unit to destroy small units, especially when they down to 1-3 models.

Yeah agreed -MSUing the aspect hosts would be my choice too. -more efficient shooting turns plus limits the max damage those Destroyers can do to you before you clean them all up.
You have plenty of scat lasers (though there is no such thing as too many...), and your WK will want to be running some of the time anyway

By popular demand, the aspect host has now been split in two, only lost 4 shots and gained 3 wounds.

Now it's 80S6 shots and 44S5 MEQ-killer shots.

I'm not sure you're getting much out of the Windrider Host formation benefits
-worth considering switching to a CAD? Obsec jetbikes might prove quite handy against a Decurion list.

Sure I could take them as a CAD, however those scatterbikes are not too fond of going within pistol range anyway so OS would be equally useless.
This way the spiders will have one phase of non random movement with matchless agility at least.
