Topic: 1 K list for a tournie.

Ok, so this is the list my friend is going to take to our next tournie:


Night bringer: 360

5 immortals: 140

5 immortals: 140

10 Warriors: 180

10 Warriors: 180



The Idea is to have a killer fire base (10 immortals) and a nightbringer. (wow for tactics      )

The thing is in such small games few armies have the big fire power to take down a night bringer and the phase out count of this army isn't too shaby either.

The night bringer is there to counter-charge anything that approaches the warriors.

um... you have a nightbringer...  but besides that i see 6 things wrong with your army:

1) you have a nightbringer

2) you have 10 immortals in a 1000 point game

3) you have a nightbringer in a 1000 point game

4) you have only 20 warriors.  this is minor, but a warrior base is essential.

5) you have a nightbringer in a game that is smaller than 1500 points.

6) you spent 36% of your army on a single model.

so as you can see, YOU USED A F***ING NIGHTBRINGER WHICH IS THE STUPIDEST THING EVER!  if you use this list i hope you lose horribly.  if this is how you usually play your necrons, then you are the reason why we are given such a bad name.  die in a fire.

But I do agree about the NB. It is just dumb taking him in a 1000pts game. 360pts could be much much better spent on, say, Destroyers, Wraiths, more Warriors, Tomb Sypders, the list goes on.

Obviously without the NB, your "friend" () will need a Necron Lord, so I would suggest that with a R Orb. Then with the extra 210pts, take more of something that is better than a Bringer of Cheese (ie. anything).

I think the whole reason of this list is to have a nightbringer! (BTW it REALLY is a friend who did this, I don't play necrons).

But I guess it is rather cheezy...

This list is a crap. At 8 necron models left occurs a phase out. In 1000 point game nobody'll be that stupid to waste their heavy weapons(which are to few) on nightbringer. All heavies would go for warriors and immortals instant killing them(no WBB rols thanks to no orb present).

That list is terrible.  Just about anything could slaughter it.  The firebase is all medium range at best weapons, even the immortals.  The opponent would just sit back and shell your warriors and a few immortals to phase out while you moved your giant waste of 360 points 6 inches a turn to try to do something.

a NB not that bad honestly, in a 1k pt 3 way game, i took one out with 12 Fire Warriors. i do not see whats so good about it, altho the model kiks ass. 

seriously tho, i would make the immortals one squad, take out the NB, throw in a lord with res orb, phylactery, and a warscythe. then with whatever points are remaining, add more warriors or sum wraiths/destroyers.
