Title: flamer templates in SWA
Post by: Dread on August 1, 2017, 01:53:08 AM
So I've been playing shadow wars some lately. My Skitarii are doing well. However we ran into a situation tonight that the rules don't really cover. My buddies heavy flamer sister was on the 4th level of a structure, 12" high, my Ranger was 6" away from the structure on the ground level. He put the template straight out and said he hit. I said no because the template is only 8" and can't possibly hit me from that height. My question is who's right?

G'day Dread!
Depends on who won the debate, mate. Whichever ruling was used on the day is set in stone. HOUSE RULE... Unless proven different in black & white.

I won the debate on pure common sense but GW's idea of that sometimes lacks. Thanks bud.

How do they measure distance with normal weapons do they account for vertical distance as well? The two should be treated the same way for game consistency.

Your way seem totally logical and I wouldn't have had any issues with it.
