1k Sons Commission Finished Pics
« on: February 29, 2008, 11:18:02 AM »
Well this one was a long haul, too much to do too little time, but after a couple of months these guys are finally done. Thankfully life is returning to normal, as normal as it can be when taking care of a 4 month old girl everyday :D, so I should be able to spit out work much more frequently now.

I learned a lot more about using glazes with this commission and will be able to work much faster and better in the future with them.

So here are the shots of the army. Some are a bit off, but you get the idea.

holy

amphetamine parrot.

...........Does anyone reallly even need to respond in this thread, actually? I mean.. it's amazing. Not to get all philosophical but 20 people saying so is not going to affect the fact that those are incredible, know what I mean? You're getting paid; that's your retribution.
/rambling tangent and first thought of the day

Truly amazing! The sorcerer on the disk all bent seems weird to me.. like it's too far / weirdly bent..

Great Army! Very Blue  :D Your client should be happy. My only issue is the sorcerer - anatomically anything in this position would fall over. Correcting this is possible but so far beyond the scope of any commission that should be completely ignored. The level of conversion to correct the pose would be equivalent to simply sculpting him from scratch.

Depends how fast he's supposed to be going......

Lovely work as always. :)

THANK YOU! Trying to get ppl to understand that is very difficult! I was really trying to force a staganat model to look dynamic without doing a full on rescuplt and wasting many hours.

Nice looking army....you put so many others to shame. The daemons are my favourite. As for the sorceror, i like to think that he has decided to move in slow motion and gravity is winning.  :-*

I forgot where are the links for the larger/original size pictures.  they're so well blended and awesome.  The pictures you've posted at the moment seems like they've been reduced to size by Microsoft Paint and kinda jaggy to see.

Too bright for me but brilliantly painted all the same.

The army looks great (as expected). To light and bright for me, as I like a Darker Feel to .... pretty well everything .... But still far better than 99% of us could ever do.

unliek those space marines and their fancy pancy adamantium armour....panzies!

Start with Sunburst Yellow, then shade with Scorpy green, then Dark Angels Green, finally add a black line at the edge of the blade. For the purple runes I just added a few thin glazes of purple, going darker towards the edges.

That is just a regular sorcerer, not Ahriman, but you can see other pics of him in the WIP section of my photobucket gallery.

And for all the detractors of the angle of the Sorcerer I have a perfect quote which came from Octavulg on B&C, which I think is just hilarious
