Alliances are normally the kind of thing you keep secret, Ian  :D.  Besides which, we don't even know what Nation we are yet. Which is my query - will you just divvy up the Nations randomly tomorrow at game start, or do you mind doing it slightly early so we can send out the requisite diplomatic envoys now?

I don't have any problem with 3 day turns personally.  Should keep things moving along nicely.

Lomendil's pick for the new DE dex. Not quite, but we have a 'dex now!

Well played, TW.  By well played, I of course mean god damn your traitorous ways.

Speaking of things, I might as well start things now. Give an extra few hours for the first season so people have a bit more time to get started. I'll get the whole thing loaded up shortly.

In the meantime, get the diplomatic channels open. Get comfortable with each other and your inboxes  :).

Putting 'alliances' in the open may be part of his plan.  :o

Diplomacy Game Thread: Spring 1901 Orders Due Friday 11th
« Reply #22 on: September 7, 2009, 07:57:22 PM »
  Welcome to Diplomacy! Rules can be found in the previous thread. Your orders must be submitted to me VIA PM before the Diplomacy phase time is up. This should be done by Noon EST (GMT -5) of that day. If orders are not in by the time I update the game, your nation will be under civil disorder for that phase (All units hold).

  If you are new to the game, and are unsure if your orders are legal or not. Get them in early and ask me. I'll let you know if what your doing is off. A good piece of advice is to be active in the first few turns. None of your units should be holding, unless they are on a new Depot. Note, I don't mean be agressive, just don't hold for the whole year :).

Following is a map of all the locations, without units. may be easier to see the territories with it and plan. below is the starting map.

All images I post, can be clicked on for a larger view.

For everyones information.

Dark Blue=England. Controlled by, Starrakatt.
Light Blue=France. Controlled by, Toad_Raider.
Black=Germany. Controlled by, FarseerTelemnar. (as close I could get to black, with the text still readable.)
Green=Italy. Controlled by, Tyranid_Wannabe.
Red=Austria-Hungary. Controlled by, azore24.
Gold=Turkey. Controlled by, IanC.
Silver=Russia. Controlled by, Razyus.

Unit Locations

Austria:   A Budapest, F Trieste, A Vienna.
England:   F Edinburgh, A Liverpool, F London.
France:    F Brest, A Marseilles, A Paris.
Germany:   A Berlin, F Kiel, A Munich.
Italy:     F Naples, A Rome, A Venice.
Russia:    A Moscow, F Sevastopol, F St Petersburg(sc), A Warsaw.
Turkey:    F Ankara, A Constantinople, A Smyrna.

The Diplomacy Phase has begun. Your Orders should be in By Noon on Friday. Starting a bit earlier then Tuesday, but it'll give you a bit more time to get the diplomatic juices flowing.

Any questions feel free to ask. Also, feel free to use this thread for public discussion.

Right, so I mixed up the Date, It's 1901 instead of 1905 (DuH!).

Also, you all have 47hours and 53min from this post to get your orders in. It's 12:07pm at the time of posting this my time. Use the time stamp on this post to judge how much time you have, and how to judge your order submission. Any late orders will not be counted.

Well played, TW.  By well played, I of course mean god damn your traitorous ways.  We have had a peace established since the first opportunity and you go and blow it on turn one!?  Really, now we're both screwed as our armies will be diverted into fighting one another as there isn't much way I'm trusting you now...

Good job, genius boy.

Unless Italy has some unseen allies, like Russia or Turkey hiding in the sleeve... Poor Azore, that's twice your supposed allies fails you. :D

In any case, treachery and lies seems to reveals themselves surprisingly fast, that's announcing for a quite brutal conflict. Sad for Russia's failed Sweden move though, that will hurt...

Exciting events in the world of Diplomacy today. We are heading to the fall of the second year, time sure flies when your having fun. I am sorry for the late update, I play 40k on Thursdays and generally play late, left early today.

First off, some rules clarifications I've been noticing. First, if you support a unit that is attacking/moving somewhere in 'holding' it will fail. You can only support a unit from where it can from, if it's actually holding.

For Example

A tri S A bud hold
A Bud hold

Will succced

A tri S A Bud Hold
A Bud->Gal

Will not.

Also, Please be more specific in your support orders. You need to specify from where the supported unit and what it's order is. I let it slid this time, but you need to be as exact as possible.

A Sev S A Mos is not a compleate order, it would techincally be an illegal order and thus fail.
A Sec S A Mos Hold is a legal order.

Please keep this in mind next time :)

Austria: A Budapest Supports F Rumania (*Ordered to Move*).
Austria: F Greece - Bulgaria(sc).
Austria: A Serbia Supports F Greece - Bulgaria(sc).
Austria: A Ukraine Supports A Moscow - Sevastopol.
Austria: A Vienna - Tyrolia.

England: F London - English Channel.
England: F North Sea Convoys A Yorkshire - Norway.
England: F Norway - Skagerrak.
England: A Yorkshire - Norway.

France: A Burgundy - Ruhr (*Fails*).
France: A Marseilles, no move received.
France: A Munich - Kiel.
France: A Paris - Picardy.
France: F Portugal - Spain(sc).

Germany: F Denmark Hold.
Germany: A Ruhr Supports A Silesia - Munich (*Cut*).
Germany: A Silesia - Munich.

Italy: A Albania Supports A Serbia.
Italy: F Ionian Sea - Eastern Mediterranean.
Italy: F Naples - Tyrrhenian Sea.
Italy: A Tunis Hold.

Russia: A Moscow - Sevastopol.
Russia: F Rumania - Black Sea (*Fails*).
Russia: F St Petersburg(sc) - Finland.
Russia: A Warsaw - Galicia.

Turkey: F Black Sea Supports A Sevastopol (*Cut*).
Turkey: A Bulgaria - Rumania (*Disbanded*).
Turkey: A Constantinople - Bulgaria (*Fails*).
Turkey: A Sevastopol Hold (*Dislodged*).
Turkey: F Smyrna - Aegean Sea.

The following units were dislodged:

Turkish A Sevastopol can retreat to Armenia, or choose to disband.

Click the maps for bigger pictures, like always.

Fall1902 Post retreats

Orders will be due Sunday. Good luck all!

IainC, I just need to know what you want your dislodged unit to do. Voluntarily disband, or retreat to Armenia. Sooner better then later. Not terribly important, but the others may like to know  :).

What happened to the Turkish fleet in the Aeg?

I also believe that my order was to Trl, not Tri.  That would be the spot right above Ven.

Good question. I am going to re-load the map. Seems to have a couple of thinks wonky with it.

Edit*

Much better.

I also believe that my order was to Trl, not Tri.  That would be the spot right above Ven.

Yes, Indeed.  I'm loading a new map as I type this. Should be up briefly.

Edit*

Fixed, If there is anything else wrong with the map, let me know. Had a bit of a Technical Glitch, which is unfortunate. Sorry for the errors all.
