Craftworld EldarOnline
« on: February 4, 2003, 01:47:45 AM »
It's been a long time since we first came up with the idea, and it's been a very fun process in creating our very own Craftworld.  We have so much more to go and even more ideas to share, so we hope you've enjoyed what you seen so far and will participate in our project whenever you can.

First, if you haven't seen it already :: http://www.eldaronline.com/cweo

Second :: let's hear your comments

Third :: Now, let's talk about what you'd like to see ...

Cheers

well raine,
the idea sounds intresting........i'll give you that*raises eyebrow*

i cant write much good fluff or draw that well,

but i'll be happy to try making new units and play testing them ;D (wouldnt that be the best job? playing with little men all day ;))

how far may we push these "new units" though?
would it be possible to summon creatures from the warp?
using the "positive energy" of course ;)

Only if they hold hands and sing koombahya...

I love the CWEO project. It has some excellent work already done on it, and I look forward to seeing the future original creations.

An army list as in what units are IN the craftworld?  The craftworld has ALL units (DE / Eldar / Harli / Exo)... if you're asking about HOW to field such an army... now, that's up to all of us to figure out...

I like the idea very much. I have been a little tired of my biel-tan color scheme, but not tired at all of eldar. I would very much enjoy painting up some more eldar in a scheme that ties them to this craftworld.

As far as waht I'd like to see, I really like the idea of some list that integrates all the Eldar units together. I of course see how cold a reception many players wold give this, but I love it.

I don´t know what the future plans are for the project, but i would like to see it grow to a place full of inspiraton, for new as well as veteran players.
If a memeber of this community (especially new ones) ask theire questions, like, what does a craftworld look like ( we had this a million times before, hadn´t we ;D),
they simply can click through the cweo, already now there are some awsome artpieces present.
I especially like the scorps ( one of my favourite unit as well), it´s just like WOAW!!!!. And not to forget the Craftworld pic in the beginnig of the site: grrrrrreat!!!
IMO it´s a superb start to an even more superb project, keep up the good work! :D

yea, i meant how to field such an army - there would have to be tight controls, otherwise it would be open to loads of abuse - like scops riding in a DE raider. actually, that would be kinda cool, but you get what i mean.

I think that if CWEO lists are going to use unit sharing then we should use some system like the way you take kroot mercenary units in an army or the way you take harliquins. There would have to be modifications to either system though to account for things like craftworlders not wanting lend DE their avatars of khaine or that craftworlders may find a unit of grotesques accompanying their army a little disturbing.

That makes since. Warriors and wyches might fight along side aspects or guardians, and vehicles could be mixed fairly reasonably, but an avatar might not lead the DE and the Craftworlders might object to following a hemoculus and his grotesques. The main other question for me is whether or not craftworlders could use the others transports and vice versa. It seems reasonable that they might, but maybe raise the cost slightly for cross used units? I have one idea for mixing units, maybe for each troops unit you choose from one list you can have one choice from another section. EG one unit of guardians gets you one unit of scorpians (or something else of your choice, but you get the idea). I suppose maybe whatever you want after you get to 6 units of troops, so you could still fill the force organization charts. Just throwing out some thoughts, what do the rest of you think?

I have aquired both a revenant and a phantom titan and the color scheme I had been considering takes but small changes to match the scorpians color scheme. I would be happy to paint them up, send some pictures, and write some fluff to work them into this craftworld. Just an offer, as I love to bring the units in my force to life with fluff and I would further love to have it be part of such a grand project as this one.

Here's my thoughts on Codex: Eldar-Online...

Colour Scheme: Space Wolves Grey (?) and White (wonder where I got that from... ::)).
Army List: Army split into two types, the Good Guys (use Craftworld Eldar) and Bad Guys (Dark Eldar). Harlequins are in both. Use the Star system for unit types. Basic troops are *, Aspect Warriors/Warlocks/Wyches/Incubi/Veteran Sergeants or equivalent are **, Exarchs, Wych Sergeants/Incubi Sergeants, etc are ***, 2-Wound HQs are ****, 3-Wound HQs are *****.

That's just my vague ramblings. I'll leave the common sense to someone with more of it to spare (If I had my way, you could take IG & Tau in Good Guys, and Orks in Bad Guys. I can't see Eldar of any type working with Chaos, 'Nids don't ally, and No-one would ever work with Necrons; they're as bad as 'Nids!).

You guys will want pics of our stuff before we are let anywhere near your models, right? Ohum - are pics of anything okay, or do you want specific eldar pics for samples? If you are full to the gills with painters, I'll understand
