The Swordwind: POC Biel-Tan, 2nd Ed.
« on: October 19, 2008, 02:06:01 PM »
Greetings Warriors of the Swordwind,

Welcome to the second edition of the Biel-Tan POC.  As your newly selected Autarch, I decided it was time to start a new POC thread so we can update our membership and redouble our efforts to reclaim the galaxy in the name of the Eldar.

Here is the most recent update to our roster:

Autarch - Chaplain Swordwind
Farseer - Lorizael
Court Exarch - Bladewind
Exarch - Dizz,  Algavinn of Biel-Tan
Warlock - Galderon, Dinendal, TheEldarGuy
Aspect Warrior - Poseidal, Jehoel, Craftworld Altansar, Thalandir, biel-tan crusader, angel of death 007, longshanks, Tethesis
Guardian - Jaron95, Alshroth, Corax_rg, Agelmar, Illusionist, enlargingcloud, Hades Hound, SilverSkulls, Ranger_Scout
Unranked -  AndersSchm, Telliria, TK422, Exarch11, psychopathologist, patrickzz, Nileez, SilverRanger021, MalkorRiderofColdon es, Jackolako, Cael Aislinn, ChooChew, Michaelius, Draug, Dark Corsair, Rei Silver, Aoitora, Morai-heg, General Cross, Calaeth, General Cross

If you don't see your name here but have pledged to Biel-Tan I've probably skipped over you somehow, so please post a message and I'll add you to the ranking.

If you would like to become a member of the Swordwind then make a post and again, I'll add you to the rankings.

You must have at least 100 posts to become a Guardian (this gives you access to the Eldar Projects board).  Only posts from Eldar related boards will be counted towards this total.  After that promotions will be based on participation.  The more you contribute to the community, the more recognition you will receive.  So posts your ideas, make suggestions to your comrades in need of assistance, and if you are able, take part in our projects and campaigns.

Court Exarch Bladewind has kindly made all these banners for our members. Please insert the code for your rank into your signature.

Unranked:

Guardian:

Aspect Warrior:

Warlock:

Here are some useful links:

"For Those Starting Out With Eldar"

Algavinn's Guide to Building an Army List.

"The Big List of Eldar Army Lists"

Examples of Competitive Biel-Tan Army Lists

"Unconventional Eldar Tactics"

"The Mechanics of the Bahzhakhain"(compiled articles by Algavinn)

Eldar Aspect Warriors in 5th Edition

Eldar in Planetstrike

"Show Me Your Army"(a thread showing well painted Eldar figures)

Please note that a couple of those links lead to posts in the Eldar Projects board, which requires a minimum of 100 posts before you can view it.  If the links do not work for you, that is probably why.

I'll continue to edit this post periodically to keep an up to date record of who we are and what we're doing; so make sure you all check it now and then even when the thread stretches to 10+ pages!

Well, I sort of figured you all would have some idea of what you want to to.  I think updated Tactica articles would be a good idea (5th Ed really is forcing us to change how we approach the game now), but off hand I would say my personal goal is to get more participation in Gutstikk's next online campaign.  When I took the lead for Biel-Tan in the first one, we had a total of three participants for our faction, only one of which is actually a member of this POC.  When he did round two, the answers to my call were again few and far between.  I hope to forge this group into an organized task force of mon-keigh (and everyone else) destruction.  ;)

But, most importantly, I want to build the community, get the new guys involved, get the experienced guys MORE involved... give us all something to do to contribute to the community at large.  I may be in over my head with these lofty ambitions, but our success or failure is purely subjective, i.e. do WE feel like we are building a stronger community in this POC?

How does all that sound?

I say we get more Biel-Tan Players on Vassal. That would be great for building team unity and involving more 40kO games.

All hail Beil-Tan (And I'm not joining, I'm part of the red jetbikes).
Whoa there.

I'd like to see more swordwind style army tacticas, like an update of Algavinn's stuff in the project forum, based on the considerations of 5e. I think swordwind is gonna be one of the top tier armies once more, especially in 5th, and so some tacticas would be a help not only to biel-tan, but to everyone.

Also, biel-tan is one of the armies most players are likely to be capable of fielding, as just about everyone ends up with serpents and avengers, and a few aspects. You guys are in a unique position as a result.

I am myself sure to try some all Aspect variant armies in the future, for except for some, I think my gaming group is in need of variety from my part as most are getting quite sick of my Wraithguard.

So keep it CS and all the this POC members, and know that I'll keep an eye on you, yes... (Who wouldn't want to know his rival's tacticas, hey? :o)

Hello. I pledged to the 1st ed. Swordwind, so I'll re-pledge to the 2nd.
I pledge to restore the mighty Eldar empire under the Bahzakhain banner.

Okay, TK422 and Exarch11 have been added to the roll.

I'll leave it to Algavinn to update his own stuff, but yes, this is the sort of thing I have in mind for us.  I do not have a whole lot of time for this particular task at the present, as I am about 8 weeks from deploying to Iraq for the third time, but as my various pre-departure tasks get accomplished and things start to settle down I will start a comprehensive article on the Aspects and their outlook in 5th ed.  Of course, I've also signed up to write an article as part of your ork project competition, so I'm multi-tasking as usual.  Additionally, I am re-vamping my army rating system for the "Big List" project, so that I can actually get some reviews knocked out and get caught up with you and Moc.

If anyone else has some ideas for projects we can do, let me know.  At some point, I'll post a project tracker that shows who is working on what and the status of those projects.  This will help later on with making sure credit is given where it is due, i.e. promotions, etc.  Remember, Guardian is the only "free" promotion here, with a minimum post count being the only restriction.  Beyond that, you'll have to work for it.  ;)

Hey Chaplain Swordwind, I did some work and revized the link from the Guide for those just starting out with Eldar to incorperate this thread as well. I also got your PM and will start entering you 1K list ASAP... In the meantime, I have put 3 lists up in the Big List of Eldar Lists for you to start review on...

Oh and to all the Biel-Tan players out there, its good to see your POC getting some revival, all Eldar have great potential in 5th Ed, and I am sure that we will all have several things to work on soon. (I feel another one of Gutstikk's fabulous Campaigns common soon enough)... As for Paint progects, etc...what a great idea... so why not several poeple do them up and submit them, then we could all get to view and learn more.

Cheers and Happy Gaming

Welcome to the Swordwind, Corax_rg!  As you already have 100+ posts, I will add you to the rolls as a guardian.  Feel free to add the Guardian banner to your signature.  It might be awhile before a mod gets around to adding your title (I still don't have mine), but its really not that important.  What is important is that everyone has an opportunity to get involved with the various projects out there.  For those who are interested, take a look at my first post in this thread, as I will be updating it with links to projects as my schedule allows.

I was definately forgotten :) *looking near avatar* ah yeah, definately... (or was taken as vanilla player?)

"The argument goes something like this: `I refuse to prove that I exist,' says God, `for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.'

"`But,' says Man, `The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED.'

"`Oh dear,' says God, `I hadn't thought of that,' and promptly vanished in a puff of logic.

Add me to the ranks as well.  I'm just now getting ramped up into 5th Ed.  I had a bit of a break, but now I'm really getting back into things.  I'll hopefully have a report on the local league I'm starting in Nov.  1750 points and 4 weeks.
