Blue metal for Necron's looks great.

If you are looking for a black metal though, vallejo 71.073 is the freakin bomb, that's the model air code, it works like a glaze with a brush or just straight into the airbursh.

 8) thanks everyone!

Thanks magenb. The blue is on purpose. I've tried of my old scheme so found turbo Dork's color shift "ice to never" color. Blue to purple, unfortunately the pics just won't show it. My main no no rule for my new necrons is no green, of any kind on them other than the money spent on them, haha.

So here's an update to life. My dad is now out of the nursing home and moving out of state to live with my brother and his family. So my wife and I are moving into their house. This has all been decided today. So my hobby time will be gone for a few weeks while moving. Then have to sell my house and then after our lives should get in a better way. Nice thing is my hobby room will be much bigger. But by doing this we don't lose the memories of 43+ years that live in that house.

Those Necrons are cool Dread. Really cool. I haven't seen Necrons painted in that colour before, so wasn't sure how much I'd like it...but I think you'e done a really great job. They're menacing as heck and I can't wait to see more come off the production line.

Here's a blast from the past! I did this Baron Sathonyx conversion just before 6th ed DE DeX came out, then when it did he wasn't in it. He's up for a repaint.

I really wanted to post something, haven't been able to paint and our move is almost over. So soon the brushes will be up and running. 8)

Looking good Dread, are you using something on the bases for the lumpy dirt effect?

Those trolls in the background look like they'd be super fun to paint too :)

The smaller bases are from GW'S bases, they have it molded on already but on Scezar base I used the basing stuff you glue on then prime and paint.

I'm still not happy that the blue doesn't picture well, the color change paints have a hard time showing in a picture.

It's also funny, I thought I only had the bases left on the plasmancer and the prince until I sat down and looked at them. It has been a few weeks since I started on them. Also as you can see in the back ground I'm still trudging along on my gobbopalooza and trolls. Just so much detail, only been more than year since I started on them. 8)

Well done, Dread, and it looks like you have even more new kits to tinker with for the Necrontyr :) after the preview today. I love the blue and the hot rod orange look your scheme has going, really makes them look very luminous, which is not the easiest thing to pull off when painting a model.

Well the move is over and I finally have some time to paint. The hobby room, while still in disarray, is useable so getting back in the swing. Here is what I finished tonight for my buddy as well as getting a big head start on some of his other units. Enjoy.

I'm still trying to slow down from everything that has transpired the past few months but getting back to the hobby is a real big help. Were starting a crusade at our local store on Tuesday evening, I hope to be in it. All this social distancing has taken a real toll on me and not sure how to get back in the swing of things, wearing a mask for a few hours really doesn't appeal to me but I may suffer thru it to get back to the game.

Hope all is well, stay safe. 8)

Thank you! I enjoyed painting them. So here's a sneak peek at his jump guys. Not done yet but you'll get the idea.

Enjoy 8)

Got my plastic banshees done.

Going strong on my necrons.

Had a little surgery yesterday. Using the recoup time to build and paint as much as possible.

Hope all is well with everyone.

I also finished a commission job.

Except for the bases i got my first indomitus necrons painted.

I hope you are feeling better mate.

ooooo Banshee's very nice colour scheme.

The Necrons are looking great too, but it looks like Nurggle is starting to take hold in the background ;)

Admech is looking good too.

Getting better every day my friend. See doc tomorrow to get stint removed and then should be on recovery road.

Very observant on the nurgle front. Im concentrating my efforts there for awhile. Fairly easy paint jobs, you just really cant screw them up haha.

So since im joining in on the Idoneth ranks i did a practice base to see how to do ocean stuff. Needs a little tweaking but am happy with results.

Just the beginning and they will be on round bases this was just a practice run.

Ah, so you started with what I'm personally intimidated with. That's a good thing! Once you conquer the ocean bases, everything you'll find may be much easier!
