Hi guys, does anyone have any advice for reassembling an airbrush?

I've gotten both of my brushes dissembled for some cleaning... now I'm trying to figure out how the trigger goes back into the brush correctly... everything is else is relatively simple and straightforward.

Any advice?

If it's the one you pictured it should have a spring that goes under the trigger and the little angle bracket goes behind it with the bend aiming to the back. Then slide the needle thru and adjust it. Hope this helps.

Went back and touched up some of the Kurnoth Hunters, then finished and based three squads today!

Thanks, Mage, so I figured out how to reassemble thanks to your link. Problem is now that the trigger is not flexing anymore.

Any tips?

Any tips?

By flexing, do you mean its not bouncing back to the ready position very well? For me, this happened as the "rocker" was in a bad position when I put the "needle tube" back in. Effectively the rocker was just on a bad angle.

So I rebuild the airbrush by:
Trigger, rocket (using tweezers), load the needle from the front as a bent needle tip can damage the "tip" causing air to rush back into your paint chamber. Then load the "needle tube", spring and spring adjuster, no chuck just yet.

Pull the needle in so you can see the tip of the needle in the paint well. Then very carefully screw the tip back in, I say carefully as I have over tightened the tip, which snaps off, leaving the thread still in the air brush, luckily it was a cheapo I learned that lesson on.

I then finish the back end of the brush, test the trigger and needle movement, then add the regulator and end cap on the front, finally the air valve, which I leave connected to the hose any way.

Then water test to make sure there is no bubble forming in the paint well or any leaks, both are signs that something is not sealing correctly.

They look great. I'll bet they look great on a woodland game table. Make sure you take pics when you put them in a game. The DoK are gonna look great, so impressive already. Waiting for more completions on them as well.

Busy weekend! So, I'll start with what I'm happy with ;D. Some of the models still need touchups, mind you:

And then what I'm not so happy with after speed painting them >:(:

Thanks Mage! Glad that you like them. I realize there are few things that I need to fix, I completely forgot about one of Morathi's gauntlets, and some other things could use a second pass.

Other than that, though, I'm not too fussed about how they came out :D. I do think I need to learn some patience, however. I keep trying to apply contrast before something is fully dried lol. I'm going to try to do better about that.

Treelord Ancient came out pretty well, I think... would give another coat onto the wood to make it as dark as the kurnoth hunters' wood, maybe change his face paint, and then eventually pick out all the leaves and base.

EDIT 8) 8) :) :) ;D ;D!!!!: So, I just realized that I've officially passed the one year mark since I came back to 40k online, since Looshkin and Cavalier convinced me to start my own painting blog, and since the decision I made to finally dive into the hobby!

I thought I'd take a moment to reflect on what I've done throughout the past year:

Wouldn't be here without the 40k Online community mentoring me in the Art of Brush. Appreciate you guys!!! I feel like I've overcome a lot of challenges, but that I have many more to face and defeat. I don't plan on being a brush master, but I hope to become good enough that I can consistently create what I envision for my armies.

From me it has been a pleasure watching you grow. I'm glad to see looshkin haunting around and miss Cav being around but so happy for his good work with GW.

Keep up the good fight my friend!

Thanks, Dread, that means a lot!

I also miss Cav, didn't realize he was working for GW now? That's awesome!

I've noticed a few others haven't been on the boards recently: Alienscar, Ynneadwraith, SeekingOne, miss those guys too. Hopefully they'll be back  :).

Yeah I had the same problem starting out, but a trick I use is to swap out what you are doing. So base colour one unit, then go do detailed work on another, makes some bases, etc. Its better than pulling out a hair drier.

Soon much plastic! I love it! I've got to find time to work on mine, you're pulling away from me by a mile. Keep pumping them out. I'll have my truck going by this weekend so time should present soon.

You've got some great stuff in this thread, and I'm only halfway through. The quality seems to be going up every page though; so I'm looling forward to the second half. :)

How are you finding the different Aelves in AoS? They are so many great models in the range, but I the game is not very popular in my area, so I have yet to take the plunge myself.
