Metallica Fan Club
« on: May 18, 2003, 04:10:44 PM »
I ahve noted that several people on this site are Metallica fans. Rokugan, Creeping Death and Myself to name a few so I thought it would be a good idea to starta Metallica fan club on EO where we can discuss Songs, Albums, band members and other things of that sort I am sure there are also many more Metallica fans on the site then the afore mentioned few and they are more than welcome to chip in.
If this takes off I would be gratefull if a Mod could sticky it thanks.

Shadows.

P.S. Ohh yeah I like Metallica ;D

Thansk no offence but I think Metallica have a larger fan base than Linkin Park.
Also any flaming will not be tolerated and the thread locked after three warnings.

Oh, yeah. I love Metallica, so I gotta agree with ya. But we probably won't get it.
And anyone who likes Linkin Park deserves to be flamed. FLAME!

I like "ride the lightning", "masters of pupets", "and justice for all" and their black album (what's the name of that album?).

BUT

their newer stuff isn't very intersting, on the contrary. Both load and reload aren't very good and I don't like S&M.

Right on man!  8)
good to see some one start a thread like this, and mention my name  ;D

I will agree and disagree with you on the new song Frantic. Yes its not the same as Kille Em All or Ride the Lightning (my favorite!) or And Justise fro All or the Black Album.  But yet again its not the same as Laod and Reload, which utterly suck! I only like a few songs from those two albums. I'm glad to see Metallica moving on and creating something new but yet try to keep it similar to the old stuff. When I heard the song, Frantic, I was pleased by the speed of it and some of the creativity that whent into it. It sounded like they evolved into new metal, but kept trying to play the old style.
We have only heard like a minute and 51 sec. of the new song and also the 31 sec clip on the Metallica.com, but that doesnt show us the whole song. So just wait and see and we might after all like all of it.  By the way I heard the song was long too, so by plaing clips of it does not make justice to the song.

Another thing, i think Metallica should have stayed with the old logo. The new one reminds me of a cat...  :-\
And the art work for the ST. Anger or as I call it "stanger" is not very impresive or good. The tide down fist does not cut it, and it doesn't make it better to make it in three other different colors.

Yeah it was the 30 seconder so it may get better. if the fist was going upwarsd like the imperial fist logo and didnt have the girlie ribbon it would be cool.
Lighting is an amazing album. And no matter what people say about the production you have gotta love ..And Justice For All.

Rokugan ahd to mention youre name you are the Eo master gituarist and Metallica with Creeping death coming in a milimetre behind. I could not hope to match youre playing skills as I have only been playing for a year or so.

Thank you Shadow Lord, I'm flattered, literaly  :)
Me and Creeping Death are very much alike in guitar skills, and they aren't just skills we have skillz with a 'z'.  ;D
Keep practising and you will be a great player! One thing to watch out for is dont over practise, I did that once and my grades whent down. So practise a fair amount and keep in mind education is more important.

'Ride The Lightning' was their best song, in my humbl opinion. Although 'Fade To Black' and 'Trapped Under Ice' are both good, and you can't say no to 'One'.

'Traped Under Ice' is great!  :)
I love that 15 sec solo, heh. Fade to Black is also good, and One is a classic.
The Four Horsemen is just awsome and Ride The Lightning is one amazing song. Call of Ktulu is my sleep song  ;D, its so nice. And most people dont like 'Escape' for some reason, but its one of my favorite songs, great lyrics and a very nice solo appart from all the hard once on that album. :)

*Que Grand Entrance*

Well, I'm finally here.

Yes, as we all know, Metallica is great. They also deserve a fan club on EO, not to mention everywhere, if that were possible. ;)

First 3 albums are the best, with a few songs from all later albums being good also (blackened, justice, one, to live is to die, dyer's eve, unforgiven I &II, of wolf and man, hero of the day, bleeding me).

And yes, me and Rokugen are pretty similar in guitar skill. For some reason I wish that I could have an online guitar duel... ;D

Favourite Album: Ride the Lightning
Favourite Song: Sanitarium, Fade to Black, Creeping Death, Disposable Heroes (4-way tie)
Favourite Member: Kirk Hammett
Least Favourite Album: Load
Least Favourite Song: Don't Tread on me tied with most of the songs on Load and ReLoad
Least Favourite Member: (I think we'll all agree here) Lars Ulrich.

Ahh but you can go to themetsource.com and on there is something that allows you to hear others play so if you each submit the same song say Ride the LIghting or Creeping Death ;D (great song by the way) and see who plays it best. It is the players database you want I think but you will have to check oh and Escape rules.

Yeah I have to do that with EO rationing myself. ;D
I keep perservering and I hope I will one day soon be good enough.

Well I forgot to lsit one of my favorite songs again:
Of Wolf and Man (just look at my seg  ;))
Creeping Death, fun
Ride The Lightning, great fun
Jump in the Fire, very interesting riffs
Call of Ktulu, sleepy ;)
Leper Messiah
The Freyed Ends of Sanity
Dyers Eve
Master of Puppets, if you dont like this song your not a
                               Metallica fan  ;)

Favorite band member: Me! lol I wish. but really its a split between Hetfield and Kirk. Hetfield is a master of downstroke and "yea!" and various other grunts  ;D. And Kirk is just sooooooo damn cool! No one can mach him in his skills. Except me and Creeping Death ofcoarse ....... ;D
Favorite song: all the onces I listed, I dont have that one, it matters on my mood. But usually 'Of Wolf and Man' gets me going.
Least Favorite band member: hmmmm this is a hard one.... Lars Ulrich!!!!!!

And I would do that thing at themetsource.com, only if my computer didnt suck! But yes an internet battle would be fun, lol  :)  Some time we will get together, sometime, simetime.
