Necron Warriors
« on: October 22, 2007, 02:06:59 AM »
Last month I decided it was time to quietly start working on an army again, and get back into the wargaming hobby. And this is the very first batch of minis I finished for that: some Necron Warriors. I took my time to paint them up to a decent standard, instead of just drybrushing on the metallics. The shoulder pads aren't that well visible in this picture, but I painted them black and highlighted the edges with bright green.

This also completes my (first ever) painting challenge vow, woohoo :)

Anyway I hope you like them.

i like man. especially like the bases with the green. backs up the mini.
However, everything about Tarrin is unfair and should be sanctioned with extreme prejudice.

The Globals have issued a 2:1 ruling that yes, yes everything about Tarrin is indeed unfair. We have also been sullied merely by contemplating this.

Thanks for your advice in my thread, I like the way your shoulder pads are done so I'll try it in a similar way on my Monolith.

Yeh, I think they are a really good table top quality set of minis. I love Necrons and only wish more people would paint them.
Think by far the strongest point is the bases, I love the shards of green crystal on the bases, really effective. Think the only slight criticism  would be the metal needs messing up a little maybe of wash of tin bitz or something like that, but I think that is down to personal preference. Some people like the clean lines and tones to the metal on thier necrons, other people prefer a dirtier look, with brown or black washes.

nice one

I like clean looking Necrons, also from a fluff point of view: since they're made from living metal, I think this will heal any damage, including rust.

Yeh I agree, altho there is something about a race of metal warriors who have been in the ground for millions of years, altho the metal would not decay, there would be deposits and build up of other crud that would gather on thier metallic bodies. The "rust" isn't through the erosion of thier own skeletal form, its more through general build up or debris over years of exsistence.
something like that anyway....

or something like this .....
